Field Day may have taken place a few weeks ago, but the weather had other plans for some of the most anticipated activities! With temperatures too cold for water games at the time, we had to postpone part of the fun. Thankfully, today provided the perfect opportunity to make up for it! Run by the 5th graders, students had an amazing time enjoying water balloons, slip-and-slide races, relay races, and a variety of outdoor activities. A huge thank you to Coach McKenzie for organizing such a fun-filled day and giving students a wonderful opportunity to enjoy some end-of-year excitement with their friends.

Almost every Friday throughout the school year, the delicious aroma of cholent wafts through the hallways, the MS/HS Weekly Cholent Competition! The brainchild of Rabbi Sharly Digadker, this friendly competition brings together teams of students, staff members, and parents who spend the year competing for the coveted title of “Best Cholent.”
Using a tiered, bracket-style format, teams have battled their way through the season, and today was the championship round! The competition was fierce as the finalists presented their best recipes to the judges, who carefully evaluated each cholent based on flavor, texture, and overall taste.
And the winner is... The Goldmans’ Cholent! Mazal Tov to the Goldmans on their championship victory and cholent bragging rights for the year!
A special thank you to our dedicated judges who faithfully sampled and evaluated the entries throughout the season. Most importantly, a tremendous Torah Rabba to Rabbi Sharly Digadker and Mr. Wolowiec for organizing and running this fun and delicious tradition, as well as to their outstanding distribution team, Mr. Berlin and Mr. Abbott, for helping make it all happen. What a fantastic way to celebrate community, creativity, and a little friendly competition as we close out another wonderful school year!

While we celebrated our Beit Midrash Program Night of Learning a few weeks ago, today marked the actual Siyum on the students’ bekiut learning of Masechet Megillah.
As part of the program, Estie Mizrahi (11th grade) presented summaries of each perek in the masechet and Elishama Ellis (11th) shared insights on the final sugya.
This Siyum was a wonderful celebration of the tremendous effort our students have invested throughout the year, both in and out of the classroom. Their dedication to Torah learning, commitment to growth, and willingness to challenge themselves are truly inspiring.
A heartfelt thank you to Rabbi Asher Nemes and Rabbi Ira Kosowsky for their outstanding teaching, guidance, and encouragement. Through their dedication and passion for learning, they have inspired our students to develop a meaningful connection to Gemara and a lifelong love of Torah study. Thank you to Ms. Rochel Bronfin for all her help in setting up this morning’s event.
Mazal Tov to all of the students on this significant accomplishment. May they continue to grow in their learning and go from strength to strength!

Our seniors had a wonderful time on their Senior Trip this week. The adventure began with a stop at the Warren Dunes, where students challenged themselves by running up and down the sand dunes before continuing on to Chicago. In Chicago, the seniors enjoyed many of the city’s iconic attractions, including Navy Pier, the 360 CHICAGO Observation Deck Tilt experience, and a fireworks filled architecture river tour. They also had the opportunity to daven with students at Ida Crown Jewish Academy and experience some of Chicago’s famous kosher cuisine, including meals at Romanian and Milt’s. Most importantly, the trip provided a meaningful opportunity for the seniors to spend time together as a class before they head in different directions following graduation. A heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Elissa Jacobs and Rabbi JJ Polter for chaperoning the trip.

At this time of year, we celebrate both endings and beginnings. For our 5th graders, this marks the conclusion of their elementary school journey and the exciting start of their transition into middle school.
Following Events Day, we hosted a special Middle School Preview for our 5th grade parents. The program allowed families to learn more about the middle school experience.. Parents had the chance to meet with and hear from Dr. Korelitz, Mrs. Mio, and Morah Tova, who shared insights about academics, student life, and the many ways students are supported as they navigate this important transition. One of the highlights was a student panel featuring middle school students who shared their perspectives, offered advice, and answered questions about life in middle school.
The excitement continued today as our 5th, 6th, and 7th graders gathered for a special lunch together before heading off to Slick City Action Park. The trip provided a wonderful opportunity for students to begin building new friendships, strengthen existing ones, and start forming the connections that will help them begin next school year on a strong and positive note.
A special thank you to Mrs. Mio and Mr. Wolowiec for organizing and chaperoning today’s outing.

Before we add to our cadre of Farber/ Yeshivat Akiva alumni with graduation on Monday night, we want to spotlight our alumni who have gathered together, who have come to Farber to daven, sub or to see their siblings, or who have run into each other on the streets of Israel… With special thanks to those who sent in pictures of those encounters! # #

“Teach Me Something New” was the theme of the latest project in Mrs. L-F’s 7th and 8th grade English classes, and the students did an outstanding job sharing their knowledge and creativity! From how to make tuna salad, to how to play the piano, to how to change a tire on a race car during a race, to recreating favorite items from Dunkin’, students selected topics they were passionate about and taught their classmates ( and Mrs. L-F) something new.
Students learned how to write clear and effective step-by-step instructions and then transformed their work into engaging video or slide presentations. They developed important communication, organization, and presentation skills while having fun teaching others.
