Today was Movie Day at the Greater Detroit Agency for the Blind & Visually Impaired, and although I didn’t get any pictures this time, we had a great afternoon celebrating the King of Pop, Michael Jackson! 👑🎶
We watched MICHAEL in celebration of Michael Jackson’s birthday. Sometimes you’re having such a good time, the camera never even makes it out! 😂

As we experience the dog days of summer this August, our executive Director want to take this opportunity to reach out to the community we serve. We spend a lot of our time focused on how to better serve you, but how frequently do we ask, “How are we doing?”
Starting in August, we are launching two important initiatives to hear directly from you:
📋 Community Feedback Surveys
All individuals receiving services from the Agency will be contacted to rate our service delivery, covering intake, scheduling, professionalism, and effectiveness.
A GDABVI team member will reach out within two weeks of service completion, and we will be extending this outreach to all customers across the calendar year.
The survey is brief, featuring fewer than ten questions and taking no more than 10 to 15 minutes.
💻 Our First Virtual Town Hall
Join us for an open forum where customers, partners, and stakeholders can ask questions and connect directly with GDABVI staff.

Yesterday marked the final session of our Job Club program, and what a wonderful way to end the journey! Participants completed mock interviews, celebrated their accomplishments, and took another important step toward achieving their employment goals.
We are incredibly proud of everyone who committed to the program and successfully completed the final phase. Your hard work, dedication, and perseverance have been inspiring to watch.
Congratulations to each of our Job Club graduates! We wish you continued success as you move forward in your career journey.

The GDABVI Men’s Support Group had a fantastic meeting yesterday! The conversation was engaging, the ideas were flowing, and the group is already planning several exciting events for the months ahead.
If you weren’t there, you definitely missed out!
