For six years it has been my honor and privilege to serve as your Birmingham Public School Board Trustee.
As I look at this picture of being sworn in, I am humbled as to how much there really was to learn about the workings of a school district, and how the role of a board trustee complements the organization.
Tomorrow is Election Day - and now it’s more important than ever to vote for a Trustee who has the experience, relationships, time and is proven with no hidden agenda.
Together WE can go Farther

Thank you Andee, Alison, Nicole and all of my friends and supporters who have sent me words of encouragement as we near the finish line.
I’ve had no donations/walkers from any PAC organizations. Being Nonpartisan with BOE experience is what matters!!

Halloween is tomorrow, but we need to be sensitive to the children. As I have always committed - my focus is on every student.
Each and every child is important to me - so here is a downloadable ‘Trick or Treat card’.
Autism diagnosis has been on the rise, with a projected identification rate of 1 in every 68 children.
I am so proud of the strategic plan that I helped develop, support and approve that has key metrics on students with disabilities. The role of a School Board Trustee - all students get the education they deserve. No political influences!

What a fabulous day to be a BPS Trustee! I had the honor to attend:
- Ribbon Cutting ceremony at the fabulous Birmingham Adult Transition Program. The two-yearlong renovation is beyond magnificent! This unique school is for adults with mild cognitive impairment, autism, or other developmental disabilities between the ages of 18-26.
-Recognition of Kellie Bahri, Harlan Elementary teacher, on the publication of her first book, “ Little Schoolhouse in the Woods” at our BOE Meeting. We are so proud of her!
I am continually disappointed in the deep pocket politics in this BOE election - and in the words of Kellie Bahri - I commit to ‘Continue to pave the way for all children’

Whether it’s at Pierce, Pembroke or in Paris - les enfants want to play! I had the pleasure of visiting an elementary school in France and we all agree - our kids come first! No politics or political $$ on our school board!

Research shows that hunger affects learning by curbing a child’s physical development and inhibiting their ability to focus and perform. Hungry students are more likely to score lower on standardized tests, repeat a grade and get sick more often.
As a trustee, I am so incredibly proud and humbled by our partnership with Chartwells School Dining Services.
During Covid, Chartwell served over 500,000 free meals to students.
As a non-partisan candidate, I will continue to embrace and foster this relationship. My focus is on our kids, not politics.
Thank you Pattie Guck for the tour of the fabulous, remodeled Berkshire cafeteria and for doing everything that you do!

One of the wonderful perks of being a Trustee is our regular visits to each of the Birmingham schools to interact with the students and see
Thank you principal Jill Ghirardi-Coignet and all of the Quarton team for such a re-energizing morning!
There should be NO politics in school boards - only playgrounds, poems and PlayDoh!

Great weekend at the Fifth Grade Fun Run and Strides for SOS. Both days the sun was shining and our community was out in full support!
