I always thought I was pretty dope as a person but motherhood definitely took it up a level.
I’m grateful to raise my kids in this life and for the opportunity to ensure they always have what they need with God at the forefront of what they do and who they are.
To my sweet babygirl, turning 16 today is mind blowing. And I’m forever grateful to my bestfriend for carrying this amazing human and allowing me to be her godmother.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms both earth side and in the sky watching over us and having given us life. 💐♥️🫶🏽

It not just the fact he graduated from his program with a concentration, a minor, and has a plan for his future…. 🎓
It’s the fact he did it with awards and accolades that he EARNED. 🥇 🏆 🍾
School has always been pushed as the number one priority for our children. But this one also worked and worked hard in any job he has had while in college.
Congrats to my son. The best is yet to come my baby. 🔥🤌🏽 ✈️ 👨🏽✈️

I am so glad that God makes no mistakes.
Every single time he opens doors beyond my wildest dreams. And allows me to use my platform for opportunities for impact and changing systems.
I really just love doing my job no matter how it challenges or shifts my day. It’s still a blessing to sit in my seat and know that the best is really yet to come. Also please get into this new Durand Bernarr that has me in a chokehold thanks ✌🏽

Before I started at my current position I was an educator working in the trenches every day with the best staff and leadership.
As a Dean and former Assistant Principal, my teachers looked forward to observations and feedback that would continue to grow and expand their practices.
My staff held me down! And leaving them and my babies was not an easy decision! But they have supported me and remained connected despite me no longer being in the school with.
For every current, former, and future teacher, you deserve your flowers every day! Because the work you do impacts millions of lives!

A month where life’s twists and turns were definitely learned.
But it brought so many beautiful things. Seeds were sown that will allow new growth to begin. 🪴
I’m thankful this month brought me:
Clarity.
Gratitude.
Healing.

First Social Event with my Surge Sibs was top tier. When I say the bar has been set at the top of Mt Everest 🤣😭 1-2-1-2-3 RELEASE ME!
Time with them before was part of the experience for our cohort. But now time with them is intentional because we design it, we create it, and then execute!
Aisha and Aquan set the siblings OWT with a mug and picture frame. Me and Destiny have something up our sleeve for May 😈. 😎🧡🔥

Honestly, truly, I’ve never had an experience even remotely like my fellowship with Surge Academy.
As a Detroit 26 Fellow, being part of ReconstruXXion has forever changed me as a leader. A proud black female leader, who is ready to embrace new challenges and intentionally learn new things outside my comfort zone in my role as a Senior Director and Entrepreneur.
