Academy of Classical Design D. Jeffrey Mims, Director At the Academy, the work of each student is linked to the long and distinguished tradition of copying from classical antiquity.

This approach to learning the craft of drawing and painting was developed in the Renaissance and refined over centuries of academy training, and is part of the larger curriculum which includes the study of ornament and anatomy in preparation for advanced study of the human figure and compositional design.
