Sit with a piece of paper and a simple ink pen and just draw. Don’t draw to create something to save. Just doodle. Sketch. Draw. Enjoy the practice of pen to paper.

Draw a scene with a permanent ink pen (I use Microns) Limit your "color choices" to highlighters (I use Sharpie brand highlighters).... While the finished product is different, the results are bold and unique! This was from a FAST sketch of my wife's sewing machine... and with no WHITE - I used bold colors to catch the various tints of shadows...

I had a LOT of fun playing with what I have called Native African Tribal Geometry. I know - terrible name - but have you ever truly stopped, and taken a look at the amazing patterns, rich colors and intricate details in the fabrics created in Africa? They are stunning! (There is a cool little shop in Pittsboro that sells French and African art & fabrics that was the source of my inspiration in colors and designs).
I love these... and if there is enough interest, I may expand this lineup. Attached are products with the prints on them. The link takes you the redbubble account where you can purchase from this wide assortment.

I sat in the foyer of the Moore County courtroom back in 2019 waiting to go back for family court... and the time spent doodling settled my mind and heart in anticipation for what might come. Art can still the mind - especially for someone with ADD or ADHD. It provides focus and lends clarity - even when there is a person yelling at you as you patiently and silently ignore them...
