Almost half-way into the first semester, and we have a new tutor spotlight! Shoutout to .gandhii for her work at Iridium!
Shikha is currently a junior at Passaic County Technical Institute.

📚What she tutors: Math
✨Fun facts: Shikha plays on her school’s varsity tennis team
💡Why she tutors: “I chose to help tutor because I want to voluntarily help students grow academically the best I possibly could and I love to teach and interact with other students.”

Looking for something fun to do this weekend AND help out the community for a few hours?

🎨 Join Canvas of Care’s first event: Painting with Purpose at the Burncoat Center for Arts and Wellness!! Led by our co-director Grace, Canvas of Care is a new project dedicated to bringing art and comfort to hospice patients. 🖌️

How it works:
1. Hospice patients request artwork preferences through a form (favorite color, things, etc.)
2. Artist volunteers will each be given a form and use patient input to create a customized Canvas of Care. Volunteers will also write an additional notecard addressing the patient’s name with some thoughtful words.
3. The Canvas of Care + notecard is gifted back to the hospice patient! We’ll try to get some feedback forms from patients rolling as well, but that’s still TBD.

💫Other good things to know:
- OPEN TO ALL AGES! Art experience isn’t required but preferred :)
- Art materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your own if you’d like!
- Students can record volunteering hours
