🌟 What a wonderful Back-to-School Picnic!

A huge thank you to our incredible PTO for all their hard work in making our annual Back-to-School Picnic such a special event for our school family! With an increased enrollment, it was a great way for new families to meet everyone!🙏💙

Even the rain couldn’t stop our celebration! 🌧️ Our students and families moved into the gym and kept the fun going with a variety of ball games, delicious cotton candy, and custard with all the toppings imaginable! 🍦🍭

Our BETA Club students brought smiles to everyone’s faces with their face-painting booth, while parents enjoyed shopping at our new PTO Spirit Store! 🎨👕

If you weren’t able to attend, order forms for spirit items were posted in the Principal Updates on Friday, August 21. The deadline for the first order is September 2.

We are so grateful for our students, families, PTO, BETA Club, and everyone who helped make the evening such a wonderful memory. What a beautiful way to begin another school year together! ❤️🙏

This week, we celebrated our Back-to-School Mass! Fr. David reminded our students of this year’s theme, “Live by the Spirit,” based on Ephesians 4:32: “And be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another as God has forgiven you in Christ.”

He encouraged our students to live out these words each day, reminding them that kindness, compassion, and forgiveness will help create a peaceful and welcoming school community. Fr. David also reminded the students that everyone in our school community has been called by name to be a valued part of our school family.

What a beautiful way to begin the school year—living by the Spirit, choosing kindness, offering forgiveness, and building a peace-filled community together!

🔥 We’re Ready to Welcome Our Flames Back! 🔥

It has been a busy and exciting week at Sacred Heart as our faculty and staff prepared to welcome our students back for a brand-new school year!

On Monday, Sacred Heart teachers joined educators from across the Diocese of Jackson for a day of professional development, fellowship, and preparation for the year ahead.

Tuesday brought our teachers back to campus, where they spent the day preparing classrooms and meeting with their teams. It was also a very special day for a very special lady—Sister Margaret Sue’s birthday! 🎂❤️ Sister Margaret Sue has faithfully served the Sacred Heart family for an incredible 66 years, and we are so grateful for the love and dedication she continues to share with our school community.

Tuesday evening, we were delighted to welcome our newest Flames and their families during New Family Orientation. We are so happy to have you as part of the Sacred Heart family!

On Wednesday morning, we joined our friends at Holy Family to celebrate Mass, with Fr. Jack as our celebrant. That evening, our halls came alive during Campus Preview! Students brought in their school supplies, visited their new classrooms, caught up with friends, and—perhaps most importantly—met the teachers who will guide them through the year ahead. ❤️

Today, our entire faculty and staff wrapped up preparations with training and certification in CPR, First Aid, and Stop the Bleed, helping ensure that we are prepared to care for our students in every way.

The classrooms are ready. The teachers are ready. The halls are ready.

Now we just need our students! ❤️🔥

We are SO excited to see our Flames tomorrow morning and begin another wonderful year together.

Today our faculty joined Catholic educators from across the Diocese of Jackson for a day of faith, fellowship, and professional growth.
We began by celebrating Mass with Bishop Joseph Kopacz before hearing from Joni House, Executive Director of Catholic Education, who introduced this year's diocesan theme:
🎈 "Live by the Spirit" (Ephesians 4:32)
Inspired by this message, our teachers participated in breakout sessions focused on classroom management, grade-level collaboration, and sharing best practices to strengthen teaching and learning.
As we prepare to welcome our students back, we are grateful for opportunities like this to grow professionally, deepen our faith, and renew our commitment to providing an excellent Catholic education.
Here's to a wonderful 2026–2027 school year as we strive to Live by the Spirit! 💙💚

🇺🇸 Nothing says summer like hamburgers, hot dogs, and fresh watermelon! ☀️🍉🌭🍔

Our summer campers enjoyed their annual Fourth of July cookout today, and it was a wonderful afternoon filled with good food, laughter, and time together.

A huge thank you to Mr. Drew for keeping the grill going with delicious hamburgers and hot dogs! The true star of the day, though, was the sweet, juicy watermelon grown with care by Sister Margaret Sue in our school garden. It was so delicious the campers ate every last bite! 🍉❤️

A special thank you to Makaela and our incredible summer camp staff for all of their hard work preparing such a fun day for our campers. We are so grateful for each of you!

Congratulations, Noah! 🇺🇸❤️💙
We are incredibly proud of Noah for representing Sacred Heart School at the National Junior Beta Convention in Nashville last week!
Competing against some of the best students from across the country, Noah earned 4th Place in 6th Grade Spanish—an outstanding accomplishment and a testament to his hard work, dedication, and perseverance.

Congratulations, Noah! Your Sacred Heart family is so proud of you. Keep reaching for excellence! ❤️💛
