Lil Peoples Learning Barn

Last night was our Pre-k graduation at Lil Peoples Learning Barn and I must say we had 16 of the cutest lil peeps there are!!! A huge shout out to all the ladies that put so much of their personal time and effort into making these graduations a wonderful experience and such fun memories for all of our families!!! You ladies are the best and I appreciate you everyday!! Ebony Jones, Kelsi Jones, Lakendra Thornton, Katrina Blackmon, Doris Jones, Erica Washington, Sabrina McKinney, Lola Haley, Leticia T Williams, Becki Cave!! Every year I am so grateful to be a part of these kiddos first years and watching so many of them grow from infants to the big kids they are today! Ms Suzan loves you all so much and super proud of you!!

Lil Peoples will be open tomorrow, Wednesday 1/17/24 at 8am. If you not have done so already please let me know if you will bring your child so we can staff accordingly. Stay warm and be safe!!

We had a great start to muffins with mom with our infants and toddlers. More fun tomorrow with our older classes!!

Another fun Christmas party at Lil Peoples with some of my favorite ladies!! Thank you Tyler Wilbanks for always helping me set this up year after year. And Brittany McCammon for helping me get through the wrapping of 60+ gifts.

We sure had some cute little firecrackers at the barn today.

Lil Peoples has been doing a few little/not so little projects and so far this is my favorite. All of the old tile is finally gone!!! When they took up the old tile it was nice to see some of the scriptures that were wrote on the concrete foundation 16 years ago by friends and family while being built, they are a bit faded but still there!! It definitely made my heart smile. We are putting everything back and will be ready to open back up tomorrow!! Thanks so much to all of our parents for understanding the extra day we had close.

Another Pre-K graduation in the books!! The last two years have been so hard not being able to celebrate our kiddos ‘Lil People’ style like we enjoy so much. It was nice having the families together and the children seemed to love it. Thank you to all the ladies that put in so much time and effort to help make the graduations so special to me and our families!!

Today is graduation day for our Pre-K!! Congratulations kiddos!!! Next stop.. kindergarten!!!

10 REASONS TO APPRECIATE A DAYCARE TEACHER

1. They are not daycare workers, they are daycare teachers. Their lesson plan every day includes: how to share, how to have “nice hands” and “walking feet,” how to say please and thank you, how to walk behind someone without pushing, how to take turns, and how to have “listening ears.”

2. They are not just teachers. They are also janitors and nurses. They make boo-boos feel better and dry up tears. They spray, wipe, sanitize, sweep, mop, vacuum, and take out the trash.

3. They are waitresses. They balance little trays and cups of milk. They pick up squashed peas off the floor. Scoop peaches when they ask for more.

4. They change 5 dirty diapers, within 10 minutes, the day after beef and corn.

5. They get 12 little ducklings to follow in a row on their way to the playground.

6. They tie tiny shoes. Snap tiny pants. Fold tiny blankeys. Wipe tiny noses. Spend 5 minutes fixing the heels of tiny Converse. Multiply all of this by 12 on some days.

7. They are there before parents go to work and-or don’t go home until the last kid is picked up as the second hand ticks to closing time.

8. They lay out cots and pillows and blankeys and paci’s. They know who gets a pacifier, who gets a 6 oz bottle, who has to have all the lights out, who will wake up early, who came in late and will lay awake. They sit between cots patting restless toddlers to sleep. They spend the rest of nap time keeping the one early riser from waking the 11 others.

9. They go home and take care of their own families and homes, or their own children. They somehow find time to rest their tired feet.

10. They are patient and kind. They are trustworthy. They do their best with no promise of rest. They don’t enjoy disciplining, but do it with love. Their heart swells to see your child grow and learn and smile and play. They laugh at the funny things the kids always say. Say thank you to your daycare teacher. They love your child❤️
