🙏💙💛 Opening School Mass | 2026–2027 💛💙🙏

Yesterday, our entire OLGC school family came together in faith to celebrate the start of the 2026–2027 school year at our Opening School Mass! ⛪✨

During Mass, our newly elected Student Council members were officially installed and now begin their important journey as leaders of our student body. We are so proud of these students and look forward to seeing them lead by example through faith, kindness, service, and respect. 💙💛

What a beautiful way to begin another year together at OLGC! We are truly blessed by our students, faculty, staff, and families who make our school community such a special place to learn, grow, and flourish.

As we begin this new school year, may we always remember our theme:

🔬✨ What a great first week of Science! ✨🔬

Our 5th–8th grade students kicked off the school year with a variety of hands-on activities designed to build teamwork, collaboration, and scientific thinking! 🧪🤝

Students worked together to strengthen their ability to use the scientific process while getting an introduction to exciting topics they’ll explore throughout the year, including:

🌎 Earth’s rotation and revolution
🧊 Properties of matter
🌱 Characteristics of life
🏃 Motion and position

It was a fantastic week of learning, problem-solving, collaboration, and—most importantly—having fun with science!

OLGC’s Back to School Night for Grades 1–8 has been rescheduled for:

📅 Wednesday, September 9
⏰ General Session begins at 6:00 PM in the Gym

The session schedule will remain the same:

General Session: 6:00 PM
1st Session: 6:30–7:15 PM
2nd Session: 7:15–7:45 PM

We appreciate everyone’s flexibility following the postponement and look forward to welcoming our OLGC parents back to school! 🐾

🖍️ Learning, Laughing & Working Together in 3rd Grade! 💙💛

Yesterday, our 3rd graders put their communication and teamwork skills to the test with a fun partner activity!

One student described a picture shown on the board—without letting their partner see it—while the other student tried to draw the picture using only the clues they were given. ✏️👀 There were plenty of laughs along the way!

What a great way to practice listening, communication, and cooperation while having fun with classmates! 🐾

Due to a National Weather Service Alert, OLGC’s Grades 1–8 Back to School Night scheduled for this evening, Wednesday, September 2, has been POSTPONED.

The safety of our OLGC families, faculty, and staff is always our priority. 💙💛

Our first PIE fundraiser of the year has officially kicked off! 💙💛 Two Football Mania tickets were sent home with each family’s youngest child.

📣 IMPORTANT DEADLINE: ALL TICKETS ARE DUE BACK BY TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8!

Tickets must be returned by 9/8 so they can be activated in time for the first football game!

🎟️ HOW TO PURCHASE YOUR TICKETS:

You can scan the QR code on your ticket to pay and register the ticket yourself, or payment can be made by:

PAYING BY VENMO? Please include your ticket numbers in the Venmo comment line AND send the ticket stubs back to school.

🚨 IMPORTANT: Payment alone does NOT activate your tickets! Even if you pay by Venmo, the stubs must still be returned to school to be activated.

📚✨ OLGC BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT – GRADES 1–8! ✨📚

We’re looking forward to welcoming our OLGC parents to Back to School Night on Wednesday, September 2nd! 💙💛

The evening will begin with a General Session at 6:00 PM in the Gym, followed by two classroom sessions:

🍎 1st Session: 6:30–7:15 PM
✏️ 2nd Session: 7:15–7:45 PM

A quick note to help families plan their evening:

➡️ Families with multiple students at OLGC: If you have a student in Grades 5–8, please attend that student’s classroom during the 1st Session (6:30–7:15 PM). You can then visit your younger student’s classroom during the second session.

➡️ Families with only one student in Grades 1–4: You may attend either the 1st or 2nd Session, whichever works best for your family.

Back to School Night is a great opportunity to meet your child’s teachers, learn about classroom expectations, and hear about all the exciting things planned for the new school year.

We can’t wait to see our Cougar families! 🐾💙💛
