November theme of Thanksgiving, being thankful, being generous and giving or helping others in need comes at a good time as many agencies and food pantries are in need, not to mention the people around the holiday who struggle to put a meal on the table. For several years, Kid's Corner has been donating food, personal and baby items to the SW Food Bank. The kiddos really like placing their items in the bin as they come to school and it feeds into our daily lessons about giving to others. Even if some are too small to understand, the older kids really do get it! So, remember to teach the important lesson of giving to others and donate if/when/where you can. And if you need help, then please reach out to me or your local agency. No family, no children should be without food or necessities.

Two weeks of Halloween curriculum are planned for and ready! Almost 30 years ago I was in a curriculum co-op group and this is how we planned our weeks. It stuck and I’ve used this system since. It’s nice to pull out the bag and have everything ready to go for the day. Many other enrichment experiences are also pulled from the “teacher shelves” too.
