I don't think I was prepared for how many of you would reply to last week's "I did a thing" post.

Some of you shared your own stories about your bodies — the shame you've carried, the ways you learned to earn your worth.

Some of you just said thank you for being honest.

A few of you told me you cried, which, is exactly what happened to me writing it. Many of you responded with the kindest words back to me.

I read every single reply and I wanted to pause and say it plainly: thank you.

That's the whole point of this work, mine and yours. We are becoming a little more at home in ourselves, out loud, together.

Next week I'm starting a short series about the pattern that keeps so many capable women quietly unsettled in their own lives.

If any part of last week's message landed with you, be sure to get on my email list & receive instant access to a quick, eye-opening self-check to uncover what’s quietly draining your energy—even when everything looks “fine.”.

A life that looks good on paper and a life that feels good are not the same thing.

Most of my clients have the first one. We work on the second.

Is your paper life louder than your real one?

Somewhere along the way your worth got tied to your output. Get it done, feel okay. Fall behind, feel like you're failing.

That's not ambition. That's a pattern running the show.

Which version of this is running your week?

Meet your host for Rest. Reset. Rise. — Kim Lachapelle.

Kim opens and closes the day with her Self-Trust Reset work — the same framework she uses with high-functioning women who feel quietly exhausted underneath all the outside success.

No fixing. No performance. Just an honest and safe space to land.

This is where the day starts and where it comes home.

You have a version of yourself you bring to work, and a version you save for the car ride home, when no one's watching and you finally let your face rest.

That gap costs more than people realize.

I did a thing.

At 59, I posed for a n**e portrait collection called In Shape: A Celebration of Women.

As an Integration Coach, I help women close the gap between how capable they look and how unsettled they feel inside. So when this came up, I knew I couldn't teach self-trust and sit it out.

For most of my life, my relationship with my body was complicated.

Beginning around age five and into my early 20s, I experienced sexual, physical, mental, and emotional abuse. Somewhere along the way, I began believing my body was responsible for what happened to me. I carried shame that was never mine to carry.

My body became something to judge, fix, protect, and sometimes punish. I learned my appearance could earn acceptance and approval, so my worth became tied to what people saw, not who I was.

The hardest work I've ever done was changing the story I believed.

Through deep inner work, including recovery from addiction, I realized my body was the part of me that survived. I began focusing on the who, not the what — my heart, resilience, and how I show up in the world. Slowly, I felt at home in my body because I was becoming at home in myself.

Over the last five years, injuries & diagnosis's have changed my shape, strength, and more. I've slipped into old stories, but I'm learning those changes don't determine my worth. They reflect that I am human, that I have lived, and am still becoming.

As I prepare to enter my 60s, I'm choosing to stop fighting — not for my health, but against my age or imperfections.

That's why modeling for In Shape mattered. It wasn't about being photographed. It was about finally allowing myself to be seen — not for my body, but for the woman who has lived inside it all along.

Today, self-love means the grace I give others. When the old voice returns, I come back to the who, not the what.

For years, I believed my body was where my shame lived.

Today, I know better. This body is where my soul lives.

You've been holding it together for a long time.

The job. The family. The responsibilities that never fully stop arriving.

You're not burned out. You're not falling apart. But something has quietly gone missing.

Rest. Reset. Rise. is one day, in the woods of Ivoryton, CT, to come back to yourself before the holidays pull you in every direction.
