In celebration of Women’s History Month, 29 of our students had the incredible opportunity to attend the annual Comput/HER Conference at Curry College! Students heard inspiring keynote speeches from accomplished women across the state and participated in interactive robotics workshops where they programmed and raced their own robots. A big thank you to our Math Department for making this meaningful experience possible and for helping our students explore the many exciting pathways in technology!

On Friday night, our Best Buddies and Unified Sports programs provided a remarkable evening as they hosted their 2nd Annual Spring Fling Dance!

There, they were thrilled to welcome students from Braintree High, Hingham High, and Rockland High to join this lively night, filling the air with music, dancing, laughter, and unforgettable moments.

Most importantly, the event highlighted the values that these programs carry out: inclusion, friendship, and a community where everyone feels valued and celebrated.

Huge applaud and thank you to everyone who helped organize, support, and attend this joyful event. We’re very excited to see what's next and are already looking forward to next year!

Wow! What an exciting winter break for WHS. After a whole week of relaxation, students were welcomed to an additional three days off of wintery goodness as a result of the blizzard. However, the snow didn’t stop them from continuing to represent the Wildcat spirit!

Over the weekend, the Weymouth Theatre Company put on a spectacular production of ‘She Kills Monsters’ by Qui Nguyen. As the only high school theatre company to host an open dress rehearsal ahead of the METG Festival, they welcomed a nearly sold-out crowd! With the largest traveling program in the state this year, they successfully advanced to the State Semi-Finals during the Preliminary Rounds on Saturday. Multiple members were awarded with individual and team All-Star Awards:

👉All-Star Actor - Molly Hackett, Sophie Ames, & Declan Dunn
👉All-Star for Technical Excellence in Stage Management - Emma Sheehan
👉All-Star for Technical Excellence in Sound - Riley Oosterman & Will Donahue
👉All-Star for Technical Excellence in Creature Creation (Puppet Design and Ex*****on) - Lydia Kirby, Becca Lanham, Tom Dillon, Lilly Murphy, Nevea Clapp, Grace Kelly, Wren Sherriff, Jess Harding, Sharon Lundrigan, Nora Halpin, Thomas Saia

Throughout last week, Weymouth winter athletics has been full of special moments and many programs have celebrated Senior Night for the Class of 2026!

Last Friday night, the boys basketball seniors were recognized for their dedication, leadership, and compassion every step of the way to the program. Thank you for the memories, the hustle, and the pride you bring to Weymouth High School!

We also celebrated our senior wrestlers! From day one in the room to now, they never quit chasing pins, school records, and those unforgettable moments. We can’t wait to watch you work hard and defend that Sectional title in your future endeavors!

And of course, huge shoutout to our winter dance team seniors! They held their one last dance here, which brought upon a lifetime of memories. Thank you for supporting and encouraging our winter athletics programs all season long, and best of luck at leagues this week!

Super Bowl weekend is here! 🏈❄️ Earlier this week, the Weymouth-based custom printing company 3A Gear created and printed a giant 180-foot-long Patriots “Flying Elvis” logo on the ice of the Back River. This is one of the biggest, most amazing hometown displays of support you’ll ever see!

To make this effort possible, the team spent two days scaling the design with land surveying equipment, marking the corner points, and then “connecting the dots” by spraying food coloring onto the ice. Since the Back River rarely freezes, they needed the timing and temperatures to be just right, and it ended up being perfect!

Owner Frank Hoyt (WHS Class of '08!) noted that his father did something similar in January of 2004, before the Patriots' big game, which ultimately created this Weymouth tradition. Wishing the Pats the same luck this Sunday!
