As the weather gets nicer, why not head out for a hike? Many people often think of steep inclines, big backpacks, and rugged terrain, but you can make your hike as difficult or as easy as you like! Always carry water and a light snack—fruit and nuts are perfect! While hiking is a great way to get your blood pumping, take time to appreciate where you are and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature.

Did you know California produces between 1-3 billion pounds of strawberries every year? This accounts for 80% of the fresh and frozen strawberries grown in the U.S. That’s a lot of berries! Lucky for us, strawberries are coming into season right now. You may have already seen them in the grocery store or at farmers markets!

Kids who bike to school might be a little tired at first, but the fact that their heart is pumping means their brain is getting good blood flow and will be wide awake and ready to learn. So what are you waiting for? Encourage children to don their helmets and go for a ride!
