The results are final. I am honored and humbled to serve as the next San Mateo County Superintendent of Schools.

To everyone who knocked on doors, made calls, hosted gatherings, shared a post, or simply showed up to vote, whether you live in this county or not: this result is yours as much as it is mine.

There will be time to celebrate together soon. For now, just gratitude.

This belongs to all of us.

Today is the day.

We've knocked on doors, sent texts, made calls, and had thousands of conversations across San Mateo County. This campaign has never been about one person. It's been powered by a community that believes every child deserves the opportunity to thrive and understands that we move forward together.

Now it's your turn.

Vote for Hector Camacho for County Superintendent.

This milestone belongs to nearly 40 volunteers who have given their evenings, weekends, and countless hours to talk with voters across San Mateo County.

Thank you for every conversation. Thank you to the families who opened their doors, invited us in, offered us water on warm afternoons, and shared their hopes for our schools and community.

Along the way, we've bumped into former students, former colleagues, parents, educators, and neighbors. We've heard stories about what people love about their communities and what they hope for their children.

And while we got chased away once or twice, the overwhelming story has been one of kindness, generosity, and welcome.

This campaign continues to remind me why this work matters. Even in a busy world, people are still willing to open their doors, share their stories, and take time to talk about the future of our children.

And we're not done yet.

We'll keep knocking doors and making calls through Election Day because every conversation matters and every vote matters. We want to connect with as many voters as possible before June 2.

If your ballot is still sitting on the kitchen counter, now is the time. Fill it out and return it at an official ballot drop box or vote center.

Let's keep going!

I’m honored to earn the endorsement of The Mercury News Editorial Board.

Their endorsement recognizes that this role is about bringing people together to solve the real issues facing our schools.

San Mateo County is home to some of the best public schools in California, but we also face significant challenges ahead. We need leadership grounded in both classroom experience and systems-level understanding.

I’ve spent my life in these schools, as a student, educator, administrator, county leader, and parent. I’m ready to lead with partnership, honesty, and a focus on results for students.

"Voters should elect Hector Camacho."

Chelsea Bonini is a smart, serious candidate, but Camacho is better positioned to solve Peninsula public schools’ challenges.

When classified employees support you at every place you've ever worked, including where you started 27 years ago alongside your dad as a proud California School Employees Association (CSEA) member, it becomes more than an endorsement. It becomes a family story completing itself.

I'm proud to announce the endorsement of CSEA Chapter 887, representing over 100 classified employees at SMCOE, where I work today. Along with the support of CSEA Local 197, where my dad and I were members in SSFUSD, and AFSCME Local 829 at Sequoia Union High School District, this moment is deeply personal to me.

A school community is not just its teachers. It's the paraprofessionals, the custodians, the school assistants, the bus drivers, the food service professionals, the people doing essential work every single day.

Everyone matters. Everyone needs to be all in.

Happy Classified School Employees Week.

I’m honored to receive the endorsement of the San Mateo County API Caucus.

Our county is home to incredible diversity – families who speak different languages, carry different traditions, and hold their own hopes and dreams for their children. That richness deserves to be reflected in our schools.
