Exciting news everyone! We’ve been nominated as one of the contenders for Best of Utah’s 2026 Arts & Entertainment bracket. Go support us by going to www.cityweekly.revfluent.com, then selecting the “Arts & Entertainment” block. From there, you will see Visual Art Institute, and you can vote by pressing the “vote” button next to our name.
Votes must be made on August 31st, 2026, and you must vote up to 10 categories for your submission to go through.

Take a journey through paints and parks with our Plein Air art class from beginners to advanced artists! You can use ANY medium of YOUR choice to depict an outdoor scene from our beautiful Salt Lake scenery! Taught by Kindra Fehr artist this class goes for 8 weeks from September 14 to November 4 on Mondays from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, this could be the perfect art class for you!

Summer Figure Academy: 1-5 incredible weeks of drawing and painting the human figure from LIFE.

This is a favorite annual tradition for many VAI students and alumni!

Figure Academy students create a large collection of artwork in a short period of time! Within a few weeks, they will have made dozens of quick-sketched gestural drawings, and completed several longer-pose figure drawings and paintings using different techniques & mediums. The concentrated amount of practice that happens during Figure Academy yields incredible artistic growth and confidence boosts for our students!
