Hey parents. Just s few reminders.

This Thursday is a Distance Learning Day.

As you are likely aware, SEP conferences are scheduled for this week which includes a Teacher Comp Day on Friday, September 25th. Friday is a Non-Attendance day for students. As such, with our new schedule this fall, Thursday, September 24th has been designated a Distance Learning Day and students will do their learning from home. Your school will provide additional information specific to their location as appropriate.

End of Quarter Coming Up

For our elementary families, just a reminder that the end of the quarter is coming up and your schools will be notifying you regarding your choice to change from distance learning to in-person instruction or vice versa. Please communicate with your schools directly with respect to any questions or concerns you might have with distance learning and resources that are available.

Did you know that tomorrow September 15th is Make a Hat Day!!

Make a Hat Day is a day for fun. Design, make, and wear your a hat for yourself today. Put your personality into it. Or, make a hat from a character you would like to imitate for a day.

The rules for Make a Hat Day are quite simple. Just make a hat, any hat. It can be for you, or for mom or dad. Wearing the hat is optional. But, it's half the fun. Post your pictures and let's see your hats!

Attention families!

We are writing to let you know that there is a new food benefit available for families. The deadline to enroll has been extended to August 31, 2020!

The new benefit is available to families whose children are on free and reduced school lunch. Pandemic-Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) is a federal program that will distribute up to $308 per child to families with children who receive free or reduced-cost school meals.

If the family already received SNAP benefits on March 16, there is no need to take action. If the family did not receive SNAP benefits on March 16, but had children receiving free or reduced school lunch on that date, they will need to complete the online application as soon as possible. Again, the deadline is August 31, 2020.

The use of these benefits does not impact the parent(s) or child(ren)’s immigration status. The public charge test will not consider P-EBT benefits. P-EBT cards are accepted at any retail food store that accepts SNAP EBT cards.

Salt Lake City is co-hosting a sign-up event for P-EBT this Friday at Washington Square for families that need assistance filling out the application. Laptops/tablets will be available for public use to sign-up for this benefit. COVID-19 precautions will be taken.
