We are hatching ducks in our classroom. Mrs. Kapise has brought in an incubator and on Monday duck eggs. We will be hatching Blue Swedish and Rouen ducks. She did candling for us to see the air pocket in a duck egg and told us how the chick uses that to breath. She then showed us an open egg and told us about the white and how it protects the chick We also learned that the yolk nourishes it. Attached to the yolk was a thread that would connect to a chick if it was fertilized. It was fascinating!!!

Plimoth Plantation came to our school today. We were shown the way of life and tools that were used long ago by the Wampanoag tribe. Students also had a chance to wear a genuine wolf hide.
