We have been extremely blessed with donations this year. So much so, that our closet is FULL. Thank you all so much for your generosity. I will ask at this time to not send in any additional donations. If you would like to still donate something, please check the teacher's Amazon wish lists posted here on Facebook, or reach out to them individually to see what they may need.

Hello Families,

We have had a busy few first days here in Early SHELLs. The kids were really good about coming in and following our routine. Next week, we will focus more on classroom expectations and getting to know each other.

I sent home a "Car Line Etiquette 101" brochure to all families. This just explains how we utilize the car line and our drop off/pick up procedures. Please read and follow the guidelines to keep our families safe and our car line running smooth.

I want to thank everyone for being so understanding and flexible during our HVAC installation. I think we are through the bulk of it now, so hopefully next week our new system will be up and running.

If you still have paperwork due for registration, please get those documents to me as soon as possible.

Monday will be the first day with kindergarten classes. During PM pickup, there will also be kindergarten parents in line to pick up their students. Please see your car line handbook for procedures.

Hello Families,

I have been receiving a lot of messages about Early SHELLs Meet the Teacher night. Our building is still very much under construction due to the installation of our new HVAC system and will not be ready for visitors by Monday. With that being said, Early SHELLs is moving our Meet the Teacher to the cafeteria. Teachers and staff will have tables set up where families and students can meet the teachers. Although they will not be able to access their classrooms, this will still help students become familiar with their teachers.

Ms Lesa will be there as well to collect any registration paperwork and donations for the program.

To get to the cafeteria, you must enter through the South Primary main office doors. Doors on the preschool end of the building will be locked.

Meet the Teacher runs from 5:00-6:00 on Monday, August 17.

Hello Families,

Summer is flying right on by and it’s time to think about registration and getting back to school.

New and returning students who did not register online will have to register in person at district registration on July 30 at Roxana High School. Registration for Early SHELLs will be in the commons area from 8am-7pm. You will need to bring paperwork that was mailed to you. All families coming to in person registration will have to prove residency. No exceptions. 

Early SHELLs does not have a supply list. We do, however, have a list of things you can donate:

Playdoh
Kleenex
Paper towels
Clorox wipes
Unscented baby wipes
Glue bottles
Glue sticks
Watercolor paints (eight color)

We do also require that each child has a full size backpack (no tiny backpacks, please). Please keep an extra set of clothes for your child in their backpack in case of accidents or spills.

We will be screening for more new students on August 10. If you need a screening appointment, please PM me and I will get the information I need to add your child to our list.

First day of school for Early SHELLs is August 20. Students must have all paperwork on file before the first day of attendance. If your child is not 3 years of age by August 20, they can start on/after their birthday.

Hello Families,

Just some reminders about the Zoo field trip tomorrow.

We DO NOT load buses at the school. We meet at the Roxana Church of the Nazarene located at 500 North Central Ave., Roxana

Please remember we can only have ONE parent per child on the bus. I know on permission slips, it said two. However, we were not able to utilize as many buses as I hoped, so we can only fit one parent per child. Sorry for the confusion.

Buses start loading at 8:30 and leave promptly at 8:45. Please be on time, as we cannot wait for late arrivals.

If you are meeting family members at the Zoo, please designate a meeting place before we get to the Zoo. We will be dropped off at the North entrance, so parking there would be ideal. However, the Zoo is usually very crowded this time of year, so parking could be limited. Also, if you park in the lots, there is a $20 parking fee.

Once we get to the Zoo, we will not walk around as a group. We encourage you to buddy up with other families and have an enjoyable experience.

Lunches are on your own. If you pack a lunch, you will have to carry it around at the Zoo, as we will not have access to buses after drop off. Lunches can be purchased at the Zoo as well.

We will gather to come home at the North Entrance at 12:45. Please check in with your child's teacher so we can do a head count. If you plan on driving home on your own, your child's teacher must be informed ahead of time. The goal is to get on the buses by 1:00 and return to the church by 1:45ish.

If you have any issues at the zoo, please contact us through this app and we will help remedy any hiccups that come along.
