Monarch Preschool

Monarch Preschool Monarch Preschool is a small, play-based childcare center located in South Portland, Maine.

At Monarch, children are provided an opportunity to have fun, make new friends and learn about nature and community. The small group size ensures children the freedom to explore and create in a nurturing home-based setting. Our approach, strongly influenced by the Waldorf model, emphasizes kindness, compassion and peacefulness. We strive to prepare children for the future by fully embracing the present moment; feeling joyful, sharing with friends, and celebrating each child's contribution to the group. Our school and daily routine feature art projects, building areas, cooking, circle time, story hour, singing, dancing, free time exploration and kindergarten readiness.
