From the first-day jitters in August to the ‘let’s get out of here’ energy of today, this has been an outstanding year. Our students showed up, worked hard, grew tremendously, and reminded us why we love what we do!

To our incredible staff: thank you for showing up every single day with patience, dedication, and heart. You make Holy Cross the special place it is. We are so grateful for you.

And to our 8th graders: last week marked the end of your journey as Holy Cross students, and what a journey it has been. Watching you grow from the students you were into the young people you are today has been one of our greatest honors. We could not be more proud. Go do great things, and we will be cheering for you every step of the way. 💙

To all of our students: you showed us so much this year. Resilience, curiosity, kindness, and growth. We are proud of each and every one of you. ☀️

Perks of being neighbors with Red’s Dairy Freeze? 🍦 Ms. Butt’s 4th grade class found out this week! Nothing like ending the day with a sweet treat!

Shake, shake, shake… and it’s BUTTER! 🧈 The aftercare students loved Miss Teri’s hands-on butter-making lesson! They even got to taste the results. Thank you, Miss Teri, for keeping things creative and delicious! 😄

visit to the Maine Veterans’
Home where they sang songs and
visited with their pen pals. 📝

pen pal relationship for the year
and to thank the veterans in
person for their service to our

New families come to Holy Cross. Today, we hosted our annual New Family Orientation. With our biggest turnout yet for orientation, parents, and students heard from Mr. Ridge, Mrs. Asssia, Laura Tyson, Vin Ciampi, Delaney Butts, Michelle Blais, and Caitlin Cooper. Families were provided with much of the information they need to prepare for the next school year and their membership in the community of Holy Cross School.

A special thank you to our sixth-grade class and a couple of members of the fourth grade who joined us in the gym to model the various uniforms one by boys and girls during different times of the year for different occasions.

Following the session, the sixth-grade students provided tours of the building. Thank you to all who came, all who presented, and our students, who are always the best part of us.

It's Mystery Trip. For more than 40 years, seventh and eighth graders of Holy Cross have embarked on a mystery trip to parts unknown in New England. This year's trip is going on as we speak we wish the seventh and eighth grade well a fun trip, and a safe return to us. A couple of photographs of their first stop of the day are attached. We will update as we get more.

🦣 Holy Cross 5th–8th graders visited the LC Bates Museum of Natural History and Culture last week!

5th & 6th graders delved into the Ice Age in New England and Canada — examining a piece of bedrock scraped by glaciers over 2 miles thick, trying their hand at an atlatl (one of humanity’s earliest hunting tools), and getting up close with carved stone artifacts.

7th & 8th graders tackled a museum scavenger hunt before heading outside for a nature walk.

History, science, and fresh air — a great day of hands-on learning! 🌿🪨
