Portland Nannies

New playgroup opportunity that is free and drop-in--no need to register and folks can come and go as they please. They currently hold it on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month at the Reiche School Community Center in the West End of Portland from 10:00-11:30am. They will have colorful mats for the kids to play on, lots of toys, and one "special" activity. Tomorrow's activity is a beach party with free beach balls and beach buckets for the kids to take home.

Family in Cumberland are seeking a family assistant to start with them ideally asap. They don’t have a need for childcare although they do have guardianship of their 11 year old grandson who lives with them. The home consists of him and his grandparents. His youthful grandmother has had a recent mild medical concerns and is struggling to manage the home. Care includes spending time with her and all things involving keeping the home organized and clean, taking the burden off her so she can focus on healing, and then also making sure her grandson’s needs are met which would include packing his lunches, school bag, iron his school uniform, organize his schedule. They would like a minimum of 3-6 month commitment.
*Schedule: Mon-Friday 9am-4pm for 35 hours/week (possible flexibility with this)
*Duties: Home management, errands, cooking meals, meal prep, help organize their grandson’s schedule (school, activities, family time, appointments, etc), grocery shopping, stocking the pantry and household essentials, keep the house organized and clean (they have cleaners come for the deep cleaning), household daily chores, coordinating service providers, family laundry, and while not taking care of the grandmother just being there for her and checking in with her.
*Pets: Dog, care not generally needed but letting the dog out occasionally
*Parents: Grandmother is home and an active part of the position, grandfather works outside of the home
*Driving: Yes, for errands and shopping, can use family vehicle
*Pay: $35/hour

I have a family staying at the Cliff House Resort, Cape Neddick seeking a sitter for Thursday February 19th 10:30am-4pm for their three fun, goofy girls ages 10, 8, and 7. Mom will bring crafts and the resort has some kid activities you can bring them too. They have a lovely and large suite so should be a fun time. $30/hr + one hour addition for travel pay, any current Portland Nannies vetted sitters available for this shift?

Nanny Dianne is cleaning out her Nanny Poppins closet full of children's books, toys, games, etc. She would often pack a bag of new toys when she would help out at hotels, babysitting families, and her nanny family. It is amazing to have gotten through another crazy busy summer/early fall season, which makes for a great time for this gal to take a break (so much love and gratitude for my job but just need a recharge!)
