We had a lot of fun delivering 150 backpacks to the The Maine Mall yesterday. Thanks to the Mall Management Team from Brookfield Properties and Jaylah Sawyer for coordinating the "Back to School Bash" on Aug 23rd.
Please stop by the mall on Aug 23rd between 10am-noon (near Jordans Furniture, which is one of the generous sponsors of this event) to drop off school supplies.
All the filled 150 backpacks will go directly to students in South Portland Schools!

Looking for Prom dresses and Men's Vests

Prom at South Portland High School is in early May.
We are particularly looking for dresses that are large and plus sizes.
However, any dresses sizes 0-16 are welcome!

Additionally looking for fancy vests or jackets to be worn with pants.

Items can be dropped off at the main office at South Portland High School (please note that during vacation week, the office will only be staffed on Tues, Wed, Thurs for part days- you can call first: 767-3266.
Otherwise, after April 28, office is open 8-3, M-F

Looking for community members who are in professions connected to law to join our high school event on 4/10 at Maine LAW. Students will have the opportunity to practice networking, and we are looking for local professionals in law fields to join us. April 10th! 4-6pm! Calling all law professionals from the Greater Portland Area!
We are wrapping up our High School Student Group ELO (Extended Learning Opportunity) which includes students from South Portland Schools, Portland, Deering, Cape Elizabeth, Scarborough and Gorham High Schools. You are invited to join us to watch the students' final presentations from 4-5pm, and more importantly to network with them from 5-6pm. Students have been practicing their handshakes and elevator pitches, and are (nervously) ready to meet professionals who are connected to the field of law.

After a very busy few weeks, I wanted to thank EVERYONE who has been involved with the South Portland Holiday Toy Drive . A HUGE shout out to the leaders, April D Cohen, Jennifer Christensen & Laurel LaBauve who coordinated all of the donations. Many thanks to all of the local businesses, and individuals who make the magic happen.
This year 400 students in South Portland received gifts thanks to this program. All of the donations came from South Portland, and stayed in South Portland!

I'm already dreaming about all of the happy, smiling faces of the family members who will be receiving these gifts!
