Lights Up Improv Lights Up weekly improvisation classes www.lightsupimprov.com are based in South Portland and usually run eight weeks.

David LaGraffe has taught improv for over twenty years and has studied under Keith Johnstone and Jeff Wirth. I have taught Improvisation for over twenty years and have studied with Keith Johnstone and Jeff Wirth. During that time I have moved away from improv comedy, focusing instead on “interactive improv”. Classes consist in highly interactive exercises that playfully explore the dynamics of the interpersonal world. What develops is sometimes funny, sometimes serious, but always fascinating. Students say classes dramatically affect the quality of their private and professional lives.

There's a great improv book that I must recommend: "Improv at the Speed of Life" in which author/improvisers T.J. and Dave put their fingers on the heart of improv: discovery (not invention) through Listening with a capital L.
