The Slavic Club aims to bring people together to connect with Slavic cultures, customs, and people. The Club strives to "build bridges while bridging the gaps."
The Slavic Club, currently with over 900 members, is a student organization which was created in 1990, by Prof. Anna Kuchta, for the purpose of increasing awareness of the Slavic cultures, customs and its people at Seton Hall University. A bit of a late post! On April 16th, 2026, Slavic Club hosted the The Kielbasa Kings Polka Band for a second time! This time we held a giant Polish American bash, full of singing, dancing, food, and refreshments! We would like to thank the Kielbasa Kings for coming out and playing their hearts out for the students at Seton Hall! We will return soon in the early fall! Can't wait to see you all again soon!

Thursday April 23rd, 2026: Slavic Club came together for our final meeting of the semester for our annual Slavic Olympiad! There was heated competition, and everyone had a good time! See you in the Fall semester for more fun events!

Thursday March 19th, 2026: Slavic Club, English Club, and the Russian Language Department got together to explore Russian poetry, from Pushkin to Brodsky! Thank you English Club for bringing so many new and familiar faces and sharing your selected poetry!

Mark your calendars! The Keilbasa Kings will be returning to Seton Hall for another night of dance and polka on April 16th! Food and refreshments will be provided to keep the polka going!

Thursday, 3/12/26: Slavic Club hosted Yana Kane-Esrig, a poet and translator of Russophone Anti-War poetry into English. She is part of the international organization, Kopilka and has translated many poems over the years she has been in the organization. She mainly works with poets from Kharkiv, Ukraine, who are first hand witnesses to Russia's aggression against Ukraine. Some reasons why these poets want to translate their work is to have a larger audience worldwide, and to save their poetry from censorship or destruction from the war.
During the presentation, she shared many works by different poets in both their translated and original language. Additionally, she shared her own original work with Seton Hall students.

Thursday, 2/19/26: Slavic Club hosted a bingo fundraiser for the Ukrainian Red Cross! We all had a great time and winners received prizes from the club! In the end Slavic Club raised a total of $206 for Ukraine!

Thursday 2/12/26: Slavic Club hosted Drs. Knight and Matusevich to talk about how it has been 80 years since the end of World War II and how the Cold War and diplomatic and economic relations between Russia and the West precipitated events that would lead to the current War in Ukraine.
