We love being part of West Kearns Elementary and sharing why oral health is so important!

Smart Smiles is here doing oral health presentations teaching our kids about the importance of brushing teeth twice a day and about the dental cleanings they offer here at school to prevent cavities and oral decay. Smart Smiles comes to our school 2-3 times a month and provides dental cleanings to students, while the students are already here in school. Why? Lack of good oral health is becoming one of the leading causes for school absences; last year 34 million school absences K-12 nationwide were because of oral health decay, cavities, tooth pain. Smart Smiles wants to stop absences for oral health problems before they start, by offering preventive cleanings, fluoride, sealants, and more, here on site. Check out their enrollment letter sent home with your student along with a donated oral health kit: toothbrush, yummy strawberry kids toothpaste, and a fun animal-shaped flosser.

We had our Holiday Party with our Smart Smiles team and collected cereal for our friends at The Cereal Project.
Emily delivered our donations and helped wrap the 14,000+ boxes of cereal being donated to children at Jordan School District🎄
Thank you team for caring about the kids we serve and making sure they have enough to eat over the winter break!
