🎯 Resident Spotlight: Dr. Daniel Shlyak, PGY-3

Born in Kyiv, Ukraine 🇺🇦, Dr. Shlyak completed his medical degree at St. George’s University. He has developed a strong passion for Vascular Surgery and for teaching medical students, always taking the time to explain, guide, and inspire those following in his footsteps.

Outside the operating room, you’ll find him enjoying audiobooks and podcasts, experimenting in the kitchen, watching hockey, or — as he says — annoying his cat 🐱

At Larkin, Dr. Shlyak stands out for his dedication, curiosity, and enthusiasm for surgical education, making him a valued member of our residency family.

🎓✨ A night of pride, joy, and heartfelt celebration!

Tonight, we honored and celebrated the incredible journey of our graduating chief residents, Dr. Sanchez and Dr. Soto, from the Larkin General Surgery Residency Program.

We couldn’t be prouder of the surgeons—and leaders—they’ve become. Through dedication, resilience, and countless hours in the OR, they’ve left a lasting impact on our program, their patients, and all of us who’ve had the privilege of working alongside them.

Our Program Director shared powerful words that resonated with us all:
