🌸 Meet Our Bloom Team! 🌸

At The Learning Tree, we believe that supporting the well-being of our teachers is an important part of creating a positive, nurturing environment for the children and families we serve!💚

Our Bloom wellness program is dedicated to supporting our teachers by encouraging healthy habits, personal growth, and meaningful connections both inside and outside the classroom!

Through monthly wellness themes, fun challenges, and opportunities to connect, Bloom encourages our team to make time for themselves and prioritize their overall well-being.🌱

Behind the program is our wonderful Bloom Team, a group of dedicated staff members who work together to bring fresh ideas, encouragement, and opportunities for growth to our centers!

Over the past few months, we’ve brought wellness to life through a Hydration Station in July, a Farmers Market in August, and a Gratitude Station in September!💐 This October, we’re bringing back our annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest for the third year, with the winner receiving a $50 Blake’s gift card!🎃🍎

When our teachers are supported, our entire Learning Tree community has the opportunity to BLOOM!🌷💜

Toast for breakfast. Crackers for snack. Pasta for dinner. Repeat. 😅
If your toddler seems like they could happily live on carbs, you are very much not alone.

Foods like bread, cereal, rice, pasta and crackers are often predictable, familiar and easy for toddlers to eat. And despite what diet culture may have taught us, carbs are not “empty” or something kids need to earn by eating their protein or veggies first.

They provide important energy for growing bodies and busy brains and many grain foods also contribute fibre, vitamins, minerals and even some protein.

So instead of asking, “How do I get them to eat fewer carbs?” try thinking:

👉 What can I ADD alongside the food they already trust?
That might look like:
🥜 Toast + peanut butter + banana
🧀 Crackers + cheese + cucumber
🥣 Cereal + milk or yogurt + berries
🍝 Pasta + meatballs or lentils + fruit

And remember: your toddler does not have to eat every part of the meal for the exposure to count.

Keep serving familiar foods, continue offering variety without pressure, and give it time. Toddler eating can change slowly…sometimes really slowly. 😉

Andrea’s journey has taken her from the classroom to center leadership and her current role as Regional Director. Through it all, she has brought creativity, care, and a deep commitment to the children, families, and teachers who make up our Learning Tree community.

There’s still time to join us for **free Pre-K** at The Learning Tree! 🌳

We have a limited number of GSRP spaces available at our **South Lyon, Lyon Township, and Howell** locations for children who turn four on or before **December 1, 2026**.

In our HighScope classrooms, children make choices, explore their interests, build friendships, and grow more confident each day. Our caring teachers help them develop the skills they’ll carry into kindergarten and beyond. Families also enjoy fresh, organic meals prepared by our on-site chefs and the option of before and after care.

The program runs Monday through Friday from **8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.**
