Wrapping up my first leg of my overseas adventure, I leave Georgia feeling satisfied, having hit all of my targets, including the lively city of Tbilisi, Kutaisi, the mountains in Kazbegi, and the stunning Svaneti region. Georgia is a country that is perfect for seasoned and young travelers. It reminds me of both Albania and Nicaragua, especially its tourist infrastructure, done on a shoestring budget. If you want a destination with clear cut signs and well marked transportation, this isn't your country. It requires asking and putting yourself in that slightly uncomfortable position. You also have to accept that nearly all men smoke, taxi drivers talk on the phone while driving in the mountains, travel distances can be vast, animals appear on your path in a second's notice, and plans will need to be altered due to the inconsistent weather. The trade off is that Georgia is affordable, the sights are awesome, the food is incredible, and the mountain scenery is easily on par with the Alps. Do NOT miss the Georgia-Russia Friendship Monument, the Chronicles of Georgia, the charming town of Ushguli, and the stunning Koruldi Lakes. Onto Uzbekistan!

I just wrapped up a two week solo road trip through New England! I went to the Catskills Mountains, Saratoga Springs, Jamestown, and Ticonderoga in New York, Vermont, the entirety of the Maine coast, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, the White Mountains and Portsmouth in New Hampshire, and a brief stop in Connecticut.

I'd like to take a moment to celebrate my piano student, Juniper. She is the first student to "graduate" from my piano lessons, meaning that after nine years, I have nothing left to teach her. She is easily one of the best things that I've done with my life. I'm so proud of her. Juniper is currently gearing up to travel Europe with an orchestra!
