Our next alumnus shares his MUG story with us:
My name is Ewetan Taiwo Azeez Olayiwola. I studied General Agricultural Science and completed my academic journey in the 2017/18 academic year.
My story with the Methodist University Ghana (MUG) began when I came to Ghana in search of a university that would meet my academic needs. MUG ticked all the boxes, especially for my passion to study Agricultural Science.
My experience at MUG is unforgettable. It reflects the values I hold dear—perseverance, honesty, and hard work—and for that, I am truly grateful to God. I cannot tell my story without acknowledging Miss Dakoriviela Jinche Lydia, a staff member who supported me immensely during difficult times. To her, I say, "Nyame nhyira wo" (God bless you). Throughout my time at MUG, I never engaged in examination malpractice, and I am proud of that. Thankfully, my dedication paid off as I graduated with good grades.
I have many fond memories from campus life, including Akwafest, SRC week, weekly devotion, and practical fieldwork. These experiences made my time at the university enjoyable and meaningful. I also met wonderful people who became lifelong friends, notably my two Nigerian friends, Onyedika Maurice and Kenneth. I have no regrets about my decision to enrol at MUG.
A Message to Current Students
My sincere advice to current students is to remain diligent in your studies and avoid examination malpractice. Such behavior damages your reputation and undermines your achievements. Always work hard, stay honest, and pray for your parents, who sacrifice so much to support your academic journey.
I wish you all success and God’s blessings.
