The Drug Store Project The Drug Store Project is a comprehensive middle school drug prevention program designed to educate youth about the dangers of substance use and abuse.

Learn more at www.makeschoolssafe.com. 50+agencies and 225 volunteers come together to provide a reality-based story line for youth demonstrating what kind of consequences can occur when experimenting/using drugs and alcohol. We want our kids to know that their decisions effect them and the many who love and care for them. Losing our kids is not acceptable. We invite other communities to join us in this endeavor. "Choices, what are yours?" is the message we leave with our kids.

Thank you to all our amazing volunteers and agency organizations for supporting another successful Drug Store Project! 300 6th graders had a great time at the 23rd annual Drug Store Project last week. As April wraps up, I wanted to share a big thank you to all who made our 2025 Drug Store Project event a success. We could not have done it without the many agencies and volunteers who give their time and support our local youth. Thank you to National Guard, Barton Health, Tahoe Youth & Family Services, Harrah's Lake Tahoe, Harveys Lake Tahoe, Whole Foods Market, Soroptimist International of Tahoe Sierra, South Tahoe Middle School, Lake Tahoe Community College City of South Lake Tahoe Government, Partnership Douglas County, CASA El Dorado, El Dorado Community Foundation, Lake Valley Fire Protection District (official), Mountain High Recovery Center, Tahoe Alliance for Safe Kids - TASK, and the many other agencies and community volunteers who support us!
