🧹✨ Shoutout to the BRMS maintenance crew! While students are enjoying their summer break, our incredible custodial team is hard at work getting Broad Rock Middle School ready for next year! 💪

The head custodian and his crew have already knocked out a bunch of rooms — and now they're tackling the hallways, making those walls sparkle! 🌟 This kind of dedication behind the scenes is what makes it possible for our students to walk into a clean, welcoming, and safe learning environment every single day.

A clean school is a thriving school — and that starts with people who truly care. 🙌 THANK YOU to our maintenance and custodial crew for everything you do!

🌿☀️ Learning doesn't always happen inside four walls!

Pull up to Broad Rock Middle School on any given day (during the school year), and you might just catch a class spilling outside for some fresh air and movement. 🧠💪

Research backs it up: movement breaks make students more productive, more engaged, and better learners. At BRMS, the outdoor spaces aren't just a place to run around. They're classrooms without ceilings. From P.E. to planting gardens 🌱, designing auto-watering systems ⚙️, and even launching rockets into the sky 🚀, the learning never stops.

When students are trusted with real-world challenges in real outdoor spaces, incredible things happen.

🌱 Space might be a little tight at SKHS right now, but we're making every square foot count! 🏗️

Our construction tech students have a front-row seat to a real construction project happening right on their campus. The new South Kingstown High School isn't just a building going up; it's a hands-on classroom for the students. 📐👷‍♀️

We also have an incredible garden and greenhouse 🌿 (shoutout to Noah and Cappy for making that happen!), for even more outdoor learning opportunities. 💚🙌

🌿 Learning doesn't stop at the classroom door especially at Peace Dale Elementary! 🏫✨

South Kingstown is known for its incredible outdoor spaces Tuckertown, Town Beach, Old Mountain Field and our school campuses are no different. Peace Dale is home to some truly special places where students get to learn in and about the natural world around them. 🌳

From an epic playground to dedicated outdoor classrooms and a stunning amphitheatre overlooking a pond and wooded area, Peace Dale gives students the chance to connect with nature while they grow as learners. 🐦💚

When students learn outside, they're more engaged, more curious, and more connected to the world they'll help shape. That's what thriving looks like. 🌱

⭐️ NATIONAL GOLD STAR ALERT! ⭐️

We've always known Matunuck Elementary is something special, and now the whole country knows it too! 🎉 The National Association of Elementary School Principals has recognized Matunuck as one of the BEST elementary schools in the nation, and we couldn't be more proud! 🇺🇸 Down at their annual conference, the association gave Matunuck's Principal the award.

We set the bar high here in South Kingstown, and this award proves we can clear it.

Huge congratulations to every student, teacher, and family who make Matunuck the incredible place it is. This award belongs to ALL of you! 🙌

🗓️ Throwback Thursday is hitting different today! ✨ We scrolled allll the way back to the very first photo of the school year at Peace Dale Elementary, and honestly? They were right.

The folks at PDES weren't kidding when they said it was going to be a fun year. 🎒📚 SKSD students brought their hearts, their curiosity, and their drive every single day. This summer, stay tuned as we recap some of the outstanding learning and growth from one truly impressive group of kids. 💙

🌍🚀 Did you know the students in Room 8 at Matunuck wrote a book about the planets?! Because they did...and it is INCREDIBLE.

These young scientists and storytellers researched all 8 planets (shoutout to the Kindergartner in the crowd who had thoughts about Pluto 👀), the sun, and the moon, and turned their knowledge into a real, published book. Then they hosted a book signing event where classmates from across the school came to read along and craft their own bookmarks. 🔖

Giving students a voice in their learning and a stage to share it? That's the good stuff.

💛 Huge kudos to the students and staff of Room 8 for making this happen!

🎷✨ When high school meets middle school, the magic is REAL! The one and only Fritz Benz brought the SKHS Jazz Band to Broad Rock Middle School, and the energy in that room was absolutely electric! ⚡🎶

Watching our younger students experience live jazz performed by their peers just a few years ahead of them is exactly the kind of moment that reminds us why music education matters so much. The solos? Mind-blowing. The crowd? Completely hyped. The connection between our schools? Priceless. 🤩

This is what school looks like in South Kingstown: students inspiring students, one note at a time. 🎵

🎉 The last day at Matunuck Elementary was one for the books! The final dismissal wasn't just a goodbye; it was a full-on celebration! 🎈 Inflatable costumes, bubbles, and music filled the air as students headed home with the biggest smiles on their faces. 😄

At South Kingstown School District, we believe every student deserves to feel seen, celebrated, and joyful, especially on the last day of school. 💛

Here's to a fantastic summer, Matunuck! We can't wait to see you all again in the fall. 🌞
