What does our fundraiser help pay for?
While our Jog-a-thon fundraiser helps pay for so many events such as Red Ribbon Week, White Ribbon Week, Teacher Appreciation week, STEM fair and much more, one of the bigger things our fundraiser helped pay for this year was a new program called Junior Great Books. Junior Great Books® programs combine high-quality literature, student-centered discussion, and activities that support reading comprehension, critical thinking, speaking and listening, and writing. Schools that integrate Junior Great Books materials and our inquiry-based approach to learning into their curriculum have been helping their students become independent readers and thinkers while enhancing the instructional skills of their teachers.
One last thing your funds are going to help pay for is new computers. Computers have become an invaluable tool the teachers have been able to use in the classrooms and Jordan Ridge PTA is excited to be able to help fund necessary computers for our students thanks to funds raised from our fundraiser this year.
