Dear SHMPA Supporters,

As you likely know, the most recent override vote did not pass. We do not know what this means for the performing arts programs next school year and may not for a few months. What we DO know is that we are still here and working to support the programs that are currently in place (and growing!) and strategizing for what the future might hold. We have a number of events this fall that benefit our programs and many opportunities for you to support students by simply attending their performances. Events and performances can be found on our website at https://www.southhadleymusic.org/.

Despite the uncertainty, we know that the need for our support will continue. If you’d like to donate to SHMPA, please use our fundraising page at https://givebutter.com/shmpa-ongoing-support where you’ll find one time and recurring donation options.

Don't forget, SHMPA has a clothing donation bin in the Michael E. Smith Middle School parking lot! If you're getting ready for back to school and cleaning out the closets, consider dropping a bag or two in the purple bin. If it's full, send us a message or an email. We appreciate your support!

This is exactly what we are facing in South Hadley. It is difficult for our students and their “tribe.” These programs aren’t extras - they’re what keep many students showing up to school every day!

Caylen St. George has heard the stories of when Lunenburg Middle High School was at its prime, when the marching band was like a boot camp: if you arrived even a minute late, you had to do 10 push-ups.
