What better way to start off our week than with a leadership spotlight! Up next is the man, the myth, the legend, The Campfire Keeper....Mr. Geoff Fleming!

Get to know him:

Mr. Fleming taught PE and Health before becoming an administrator (he taught Dr. Hodal’s Hubby!) and loves encouraging students to do their best every day. When he's away from school, he enjoys football, woodworking projects, and cheering for the Bears, Cubs, and Notre Dame. If you ever see a Diet Coke nearby, there's a good chance it's his! His advice? Work hard, be kind, and enjoy the journey.

Happy Sunday Kenyon Family, today's leadership spotlight shines on another of one our APs, Dr. Heather Hodal! She takes on many roles but her newest one is The Summit Leader.

A little bit about her:

Dr. Hodal believes family, hard work, and healthy habits are important both inside and outside of school. She would GLADLY show you her skills on the pull-up bar! Before becoming an administrator, she taught 5th and 6th grade. She and her husband are products of U-46! She enjoys lifting weights, spending time with her family (4 kids), and cheering on the White Sox. Her favorite walk-up song is On Top of the World by Imagine Dragons, a perfect reminder to always keep a positive mindset!

Today's leadership spotlights goes to one of our APs aka The Pathfinder, Mrs. Shannon Henderson!

Here is a little about her:

Mrs. Henderson is passionate about making sure every student feels respected, supported, and valued. She previously taught students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing and loves seeing students succeed. Outside of school, she enjoys dancing, listening to country music, and relaxing outdoors. She has two sons and one is a MARINE! She is a fan of Reese’s cups but HATES to eat fish! She's also a loyal Packers fan (uh-oh)—don't hold it against her!

Over the summer, countless hours went into finding the vision for this upcoming school year. Kenyon Woods was given a unique opportunity to expand its family and its pawprint, as Panthers, we do not take that lightly! What better way to embrace our growing family than with a camp theme? One Camp. One Family. One Kenyon. Today's leadership feature is our brave Principal or shall we call her our Camp Director. Mrs. Jenn Reyes!

A little about her:

Mrs. Reyes loves building relationships with students and believes school should be a place where everyone feels they belong. Before becoming an administrator, she taught high school Spanish and is a cool Chicago mix of Mexican and Polish! When she's not at school, you might find her camping, listening to reggae and country music, looking up cool ghost stories, working out, or spending time with her big family and two dogs (She has four kids in HS and one in college!). She also loves Chicago sports(Cubs & Bears!), PIZZA, and a good laugh. Her walk-up song? Don't Worry, Be Happy!

Les informamos que ya se han publicado los horarios para aquellos que han completado el proceso de inscripción; sin embargo, estos aún no son definitivos. Se siguen realizando ajustes basados ​​en el número de alumnos y otros factores. Kenyon Woods Families and Students,

Please know that the schedules have been released to you if you have finished your registration process, however, they are not finalized. They are still adjusting based on numbers and other factors. Thank you in advance for your patience in the process and all of the new programming that has caused this delay.

We are working diligently as a team to get everything complete. Our counselors and staff are not back in the office until after August 20. for registration completion, please email my secretary at [email protected]

¡Aviso de evento! ¡Marquen sus calendarios para la fiesta de regreso a clases de la Escuela Secundaria Kenyon Woods! El 19 de agosto, de 2:00 p. m. a 6:00 p. m., abriremos nuestras puertas a todas las familias, tanto a las nuevas como a las que regresan a Kenyon Woods.

Tendrán la oportunidad de recorrer su horario de clases, practicar la combinación de su casillero, dejar los útiles escolares, decorar su casillero, disfrutar de los camiones de comida, conocer recursos de la comunidad y saludar a gente amable.

Event Alert! Mark your calendars for Kenyon Woods Middle School's Back to School Bash! On August 19th from 2pm to 6pm we will be opening our doors to all incoming and returning Kenyon Woods Families. Get a chance to walk your schedule, practice your locker combination, drop off supplies, decorate your locker, enjoy food trucks, learn about community resources, and meet some friendly faces.

We are excited to welcome everyone back!
