Hi, I’m Bridget Erion, and I’ve been a Pure Barre girl for a little over 4 years! I started in December 2023 and, well…let’s just say I was hooked.
I’m pretty much an everyday M-F kind of gal, and you can usually find me at the 9:30 class—the perfect time to get my shake on after bus drop-off! If you’ve been around the studio for a while, you may also know me as Pure Barre’s resident artist. I’ve had fun creating a few chalk drawings outside the studio and helping with pop-up events where I get to show off my face-painting skills.
This year, however, my Pure Barre routine took a little detour. In January, I was diagnosed with breast cancer—Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. My surgery was in March, followed by a treatment plan that included 8 rounds of chemotherapy from May through August. And now I’m onto the final leg of this journey: 20 radiation treatments, beginning September 28.
I enjoy checking ALL the boxes…my last chemo infusion was August 11, just one day after my twin and I returned home from our annual Twins Days shenanigans! Talk about timing!
Now I’m getting ready to return to my usual 9:30 classes while squeezing in a quick little “tanning session” afterward.
(If you know me, you KNOW I’m going to find the humor in this.)
It’s just one month, one season, one final chapter that I get to close—and one more box to check off my list.
But if there’s one thing I really want to shout from the barre about, it’s this:
LADIES, PLEASE GET YOUR B***S CHECKED!
If you’re due for your mammogram, book it. Don’t put it off. My last two mammograms were only 14 months apart, and we are incredibly grateful mine was caught early. Early detection matters.
So keep moving, keep laughing, keep showing up for yourself, be kind, and don’t forget your vitamins!
I’m so incredibly grateful for my Pure Barre South Elgin family and all the love, support, hugs, messages, meals, laughs, and encouragement you’ve given me along the way. You ladies have been part of my battle armor from day one.
Now…who’s ready to barre, battle & kick cancer’s ass with me?
Love to you all! 💗
