We had such a wonderful time at our Open House! Families gathered for a bug hike, explored together, played, connected, and got a little glimpse of what learning in community looks like at EverWild.

And we had an extra fun connection to the VAHomeschoolers [un]Convention—our Adventure Tote giveaway winner joined us at Open House! 🎉 Congratulations, Ezra! We loved getting know you and your family as well as sending you all home with a tote full of goodies for your own adventures!

Thank you to everyone who came out to explore with us, to our EverWild families who helped welcome new faces, and to all the little bug hunters who happily searched under logs, peered into the grass, and followed their curiosity along the trail.

Open House gave us the perfect little taste of what’s ahead…

And now, our EverWild season begins!

We are thrilled and incredibly honored to have received the Green Grant from Keep Virginia Beautiful! 🌿💚

This grant will help bring our Tend the Wild stewardship project to life, providing supplies and support as our EverWild families work together to care for the parks and natural spaces we love. Through hands-on service, our children will learn that enjoying nature also means protecting it—one piece of litter, one shared effort, and one wild place at a time.

Every small act of care helps keep Virginia beautiful and together, we’re nurturing a generation that doesn’t just explore the wild—they help tend it. 💚🌿

Today’s Green Grant recipient is Everwild Homeschool Cooperative in Hopewell. EverWild provides a nature-based, community-centered learning environment for homeschool families. Environmental stewardship is a core component of EverWild’s programming, with students participating in hands-on activities like litter cleanups. EverWild will use the $500 in funding to support cleanups in Hopewell, the surrounding Tri-Cities area, and Chesterfield County. We are eager to support this project that centers youth in our collective efforts to reduce and prevent litter in the Commonwealth!

🌿 Tend the Wild- Community Cleanup 🌿

Join us for a community trash and litter cleanup as part of the Great Virginia Green Up in collaboration with Keep Virginia Beautiful!

Kids will help collect litter, sort recyclable items from trash, and learn how waste impacts our local ecosystems. This park sits along the Appomattox River watershed, giving children the opportunity to actively steward the river, community spaces, and outdoor learning areas they love.

Students will count the bags of trash collected and help us enter our cleanup totals into the statewide Keep Virginia Beautiful campaign. There is even a friendly competition for groups that collect the most trash — with prizes awarded to winners! 🏆♻️

We know EverWild can lead the campaign! 💚

This weeks art class was inspired by the work of Gustav Klimt ✨

The kids explored metallic colors, patterns, symbols, layers, texture, and self-expression through paint— then created their own unique pieces outdoors in the sunshine.

One of our favorite things about process art is seeing how differently each child interprets the same inspiration 🌿🎨

We had such a special visit to the Visual Arts Center of Richmond earlier this month!

We explored the exhibits, had the chance to meet artist Justice Dwight 💚, and then the kids jumped right into creating their own fabric photo frames for their portraits.

Such a meaningful way to experience art.
So grateful to VisArts for all they do!
