Littles are capable of so much more than we give them credit for. When given the right tools and gentle, intentional guidance, they can do grand and wonderful things—like sewing patches onto hats (almost) all by themselves to create something uniquely theirs. 🤗

💫 The kind of thing that is hard to leave. 💫

Camp ended the week finding a broody chicken and putting the final stitches on our sewing projects — lavender and rice pocket pouches. Then one last afternoon in the forest with friends.

Camp has been about learning what to look for in nature and how to use it. Today was about what to leave alone! 🤔☠️
Then we found a slower pace and all child-led… leading us to hours in the forest, building shelters and just being a kid.

Today felt like one of those days you wish you could bottle up. 🤗
We learned to tie square knots, foraged purple deadnettle, and made purple deadnettle pesto for bruschetta. So yummy! And as always, the day ended, as it should, with freedom in the forest.

Just when we thought the first day of Spring Break Camp was the best along comes day two! 🤩
We finished making our wild violet tea and got to learn about pH indicators, started a new sewing project, and made dandelion cookies!! “Just like people in the olden days.” Making memories while making “wild” food.

First day at Spring Break Camp was just what we all needed. Cute animals, sewing, and picking wild violets to make tea. Ending for some freedom in the forest. Can’t wait until tomorrow. 🤗
