Our 1st and 2nd graders had a wonderful time learning about animals and the different habitats they call home!

A special THANK YOU to Justin and Melissa from the Halifax Soil and Water Conservation District for visiting our students and bringing learning to life! ❤️

We love when our community partners help our students discover the amazing world around them. From understanding where animals live to learning why their habitats are so important, our young Red Jackets are growing in knowledge, curiosity, and appreciation for God’s creation! 🌿🐢

❤️🖤 Learning to Lead. Learning to Serve. Leaving a Legacy. 🦅

This year, C.H. Friend School introduced a brand-new course for our 7th–12th grade students: Legacy & Leadership!

Built on three important pillars — Leadership, Communication, and Service — this course challenges our students to look beyond themselves, recognize their God-given potential, and understand that true leadership isn’t about being in charge. It’s about making a difference in the lives of others.

And what better way to practice servant leadership than by pouring into our youngest Red Jackets? ❤️

Our older students have been stepping into classrooms, lending helping hands, encouraging little learners, and discovering that sometimes the greatest leadership lessons happen in the simplest moments.

What makes this so special is that the learning goes both ways! Our younger students benefit from the guidance and encouragement of their older peers, while our older students learn patience, compassion, responsibility, and the joy of serving others.

Today’s chapel reminded us through 1 Corinthians 12:12 that we are all different parts of one body, but we belong together. Our Legacy & Leadership students are putting that very lesson into action!

Every student matters. Every role has purpose. And we all need one another.

At CHFS, we’re not just teaching students how to lead someday. We’re giving them opportunities to lead and serve TODAY!

🧩❤️🖤 EVERY PIECE MATTERS! 🖤❤️🧩

Today in chapel, we focused on 1 Corinthians 12:12 and the beautiful reminder that while we are all different, we are all part of ONE body in Christ!

Each student received a puzzle piece, and together, we worked to complete our C.H. Friend School puzzle. 🧩

Just like a puzzle, every piece has a purpose, every piece has a place, and every piece matters!

We may have different personalities, talents, strengths, and abilities, but God created each of us with a purpose. When we come together, encourage one another, and use our God-given gifts, we create something far greater than we ever could alone.

❤️ We ALL have a part to play. We ALL belong. We ALL matter.

🏅 Leadership Olympics! 🏅

What a fun day of teamwork, leadership, and laughter! Our 8th grade students stepped up as leaders, guiding our 3rd and 4th graders through a variety of fun Olympic-style games and activities. 🎉

We loved watching our older students encourage, support, and cheer on our younger students while everyone had a chance to participate and have fun. 💙

A huge shoutout to our amazing 8th grade leaders for making the day so special! We’re so proud of the way they led by example. 🏆👏

🎃🔬 Things are getting a little rotten in Physical Science! 😂

My 8th & 9th graders are kicking off our Pumpkin Rot Lab, where we’ll observe pumpkins over time and identify the physical and chemical changes happening as they decompose.

We’re talking texture, color, smell, mold, decomposition, and what makes a change physical vs. chemical. 🧪🎃

Science isn’t always pretty… sometimes it’s ROTTEN! 😂

Can’t wait to see what these pumpkins look like in a few weeks! 👀🎃🦠

🌿☀️ The Littles had the BEST day at The Junction! 🚌💛

Our Pre-K through 2nd graders had a wonderful field trip this morning! It was the perfect day to get outside, explore, laugh, learn, and make some sweet memories together. 🥰

There’s just something special about seeing our littlest learners experiencing new things and enjoying time together outside the classroom! 💕🌳

🛒💵 Real-world math in action!

Our Business Math students practiced becoming smart shoppers by comparing prices at local stores, using rounding to estimate their shopping cart totals before checkout, and checking unit prices to find the better value.

Then came the challenge: with an imaginary $30 budget and store sale circulars, which group could get the most for their money? Students worked together to compare deals and stretch every dollar!

Building math skills, teamwork, and smart spending habits they can use for years to come! ❤️🖤
