RISE UP SPOTLIGHT:
This year, Adrien, Myomie, and Diana took on the African American History Challenge, spending months studying from a college-level textbook to prepare for the competition. While the competition itself took place on March 18, the real accomplishment was the dedication they showed throughout the entire school year.
These students put in the work, stayed committed, and represented Rise Up Academy with pride. We wanted to take a moment to recognize their effort, perseverance, and willingness to challenge themselves.
A special thank you goes to Mrs. Wells, whose support and encouragement made this opportunity possible. We are proud of these students for stepping up, sticking with it, and representing Rise Up so well. π¦βπ₯π©΅

RISE UP SPOTLIGHT:
We love recognizing students who go above and beyond, and Shamarion is a wonderful example of that sort of dedication. His positive attitude, strong work ethic, and genuine desire to learn make him stand out in the classroom each and every day. In Mr. Sweeney's class, Shamarion is never satisfied with simply getting the right answer. He wants to understand the βwhyβ behind it all. His curiosity, respectfulness, and commitment to doing his best are qualities that truly deserve to be celebrated.
We are proud to have Shamarion as part of the Rise Up community! π¦βπ₯π©΅

More community service projects took place this past Monday as Rise Up Academy students continued finding ways to give back to the community!
These photos capture Mrs. Wells's students volunteering at a local retirement home, where they spent time helping residents and spreading kindness through conversation and service. We are proud of our students for representing Rise Up with compassion, positivity, and a willingness to make a difference in the lives of others. π¦βπ₯π©΅

RISE UP SPOTLIGHT:
When Raveonna arrived at Rise Up Academy in late March, she was tasked with completing a full Edmentum schedule in a very short amount of time. Through consistency and hard work, she not only met expectations, but exceeded them by completing all 8 courses ahead of schedule. With the support and encouragement of Ms. Lee, Raveonna stayed focused and committed every step of the way.
We are incredibly proud of Raveonna and the dedication she continues to show toward her education and future. π¦βπ₯π©΅

Wednesday evening, Rise Up Academy's very own Myomie, along with other students across the district, participated in a youth-led town hall focusing on mental health. Events like these help create important conversations about emotional well being, support, and the importance of making sure students within the community feel heard both inside and outside of the classroom. We are proud of Myomie and the other members of the Youth Advisory Council for using their voices to advocate for themselves and others while helping break the stigma surrounding mental health.

RISE UP SENIOR WALKS:
Yesterday, Rise Up seniors, along with seniors from the three other SBCSC high schools, visited elementary and middle schools across the district in their caps and gowns.
For many students, the experience served as a meaningful, full circle moment as they reflected on how far they have come throughout their educational journeys and prepared for the next chapter of their lives. The walks also gave seniors the opportunity to encourage and inspire younger students, reminding them that their goals and future accomplishments are possible through dedication and hard work.
For both our seniors and the younger students they inspired:
We are proud of you and cannot wait to see all you continue to achieve in the future. Whether you are just beginning your educational journey or preparing to graduate, we hope you continue to dream big, work hard, and take pride in everything you accomplish along the way. π¦βπ₯π©΅
