Flag Awareness Program

Flag Awareness Program We make a presentation about the history of the American Flag and teach young minds about the significance and symbolism from the eyes of a veteran.

The American Legion Riders from Post 357 make a presentation about the history of the American Flag and teach young minds about the significance and symbolism from the eyes of a veteran. The old torn and battered flags at the schools are replaced with brand new ones. This service is offered to the schools at no charge. The program is funded purely by donations from local businesses and individuals in our community. The children are given a postcard inwhich they can send a personal message to a soldier serving overseas. The postcard is then sent with care packages by the Blue Star Moms. This program is available to elementary, middle, and high school students. Students are also taught the proper procedure of folding the american flag. The simple words of saying THANK YOU to a veteran can make them feel appreciated for the sacrifices they made for our country and our freedoms. The flag program was established on September 12, 2014
