In The Beginning of Transformation Park - hbjr
How we can transform our underserved Black communities with “everything going wrong” hbjr
You don’t fix everything at once. You build a Transformation Stack—the few moves that create momentum across many problems.
The Transformation Stack (in order)
1. Stability (safety, routines, basic needs)
2. Truth + identity (purpose, worldview, “who we are”)
3. Skill + work (employability, trades, discipline)
4. Ownership (savings, shares, co-ops, assets)
5. Culture (new norms: accountability, unity, service)
If we skip stability, skills don’t stick.
If we skip skills, ownership stays a dream.
If we skip ownership, culture doesn’t change—people stay in survival mode.

What must be true on the instructor’s side (our leadership team)
Our “instructors” are not just preachers and teachers—they are the system.
Required leadership conditions: “Ends In Mind”.
• Clear end state (measurable, simple)
• A repeatable weekly schedule (same structure every week)
• Tracking (attendance, savings, employment, mentorship)
• Accountability with compassion (standards + support) continual and consistent
• A pathway (what happens after the class?) both individually, family, and community
• Fast wins (visible progress in 30–90 days)
• A covenant culture (shared commitments)

What must be true on the participant side
You can’t transform someone who won’t participate, but you can design participation so it’s easier to win than to quit.
Participant requirements:
• show up (attendance) take attendance always
• obey structure (assignments) always
• accept correction (coaching) always
• practice new habits (daily/weekly) continually
• contribute something (time, $2/week, service hours) know your own contribution
• stop feeding the old system (toxic influences, waste spending) minimize complaining
Participation is the “engine.” Feelings are not. hbjr
