Every child deserves to feel safe, heard, supported, and like they belong. When children know they have trusted adults who will listen, encourage them, and believe them, they're better equipped to learn, grow, and thrive.

For decades, Dolly Parton has helped put books into the hands of millions of young children through her Imagination Library, beginning at birth.

And those books represent so much more than learning to read.

In the earliest years, sharing a book is a chance for babies and toddlers to hear new words, explore the world, connect with the people who love them and build the relationships that help their brains grow. Long before a child can read the words on a page, they’re learning through every story, snuggle, point and conversation.

Inspired by her own father, who never had the opportunity to learn to read, Dolly turned a deeply personal experience into a commitment to making books more accessible to families, regardless of where they live or what they earn.

Her work is a powerful reminder that every child deserves opportunities to learn, connect and thrive from the very beginning.

What a wonderful day for the students of Bay Center! The Bay Center Women’s Club sponsored a fantastic back-to-school backpack event, and the Bay Center KOA was the perfect place to bring everyone together. ❤️

There were friendly faces, backpacks and giveaways, a delicious hot dog lunch generously donated by Skylar’s, information and support from the North Pacific County Diaper Bank, Early Learning Center preschool enrollment, and, of course… COTTON CANDY! 🍭😄

A big thank-you to everyone who donated, volunteered, shared resources, and helped make the day special for our local kids and families.

Here’s to a happy, healthy, and successful school year, Bay Center! 📚🍎🎒

💚 August is National Wellness Month

Wellness looks different for every child. Sometimes it’s a safe place to talk, a caring adult who listens, time to play and be a kid, or simply knowing they are not alone.

This National Wellness Month, we’re reminded that supporting children means caring for the whole child—their mental, emotional, physical, and social well-being.

Every child deserves the opportunity to feel safe, supported, and empowered to thrive. Together, we can help create communities where children have the resources, relationships, and support they need to grow into healthy, happy, and resilient young people.
