Small business owners can feel really under appreciated in their own business.
It is a lot to maintain the daily, weekly, monthly flow of customers, information, events, classes, payroll, banking, phone calls, emails, text messages, cleaning, and cleaning and more cleaning.
Pivoting for more efficient ways of working, upgrading systems, tech problems, improving merchandising and customer experiences, inventory, and seasonal planning. It’s all problem solving all the time.
Marketing— including social media management of multiple platforms, creating event flyers, laboring over the perfect graphics, fonts, colors, and inevitable errors.
Staff— balancing their schedules and yours and unexpected life experiences or last minute changes with customer requests.
For our business, firing and unloading kilns everyday, most times multiple times a day while also managing all of the above and probably so much more than we can even explain.
We ❤️ love being our own bosses and we are always using tools at our expense to facilitate various tasks, but tools are still a time investment, and no, you don’t have the budget to pay for services that will do it for you.
If you’re also a small business owner— we see you, we’re rooting for you to help us create a unique and exciting space in and around Downtown South Bend and we know it can be a lot of long hours so make sure you give yourself a break when you can!
If you know someone running a small business show them some love this week! Bring them a coffee, go for a walk with them, plan a beach day, paint pottery! 🎨🖌️
