EXPLORING YOUR OPTIONS -- Learn How Women’s & Gender Studies Degrees Lead to Careers

Learn How a Women’s and Gender Studies Degree Can Help You Achieve Your Professional and Personal Goals

Wondering how students apply the skills and knowledge of a Women’s and Gender Studies major or minor to career paths? Meet with WGS Interim Director April Lidinsky ([email protected]) to hear how our students find justice-related work, boosted by internships and guided professional networking. Check out our topically relevant and engaging upcoming courses for Spring and Summer 2025, many of which also satisfy General Education requirements.

Listen to what our grads say: “The Women’s and Gender Studies Program laid the foundation for everything I am passionate about today. It’s the reason I went on to pursue a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and now a PH.DIn Counselor Education and Supervision at Old Dominion University” (Nargiza Amirova, MS, NCC, NCSC, Ph.D. Candidate). “I have continued to pursue a passion for addressing structural inequalities through a career in law” (Leah MacDonald, Senior Paralegal and law school applicant). “Thanks to my WGS degree from IUSB, I was equipped with the ability to thoughtfully analyze information, draw educated conclusions, and identify variables that may impact our clients, such as socioeconomic and cultural factors” (Courtney Schultz, MA BCBA, Director of ABA Services for ABS Kids).

More WGS alumni career stories are featured on the WGS bulletin board on the first floor of Wiekamp Hall.

Dr. Lidinsky is happy to meet with you and answer your questions about the career paths a WGS degree makes possible. Make an appointment by emailing [email protected]
