Talk about making an impression on the national stage!

A huge congratulations to John Adams High School seniors Paul Henry and Mateo Jimenez, who have earned NATIONAL recognition through the prestigious Scholastic Art & Writing Awards for their incredible work in Graphic Design and Interactive Media.

-Paul Henry received a National Medal for his graphic design piece, Just Recycle.
-Mateo Jimenez earned National Recognition for his powerful work, Veins.

Even more exciting? Both students will travel to New York City this summer to be honored at Carnegie Hall alongside some of the nation's most talented young artists and writers!

These talented students are second-year Graphic Design CTE students who first earned multiple regional awards before advancing to the national competition—an achievement reached by only a select group of student artists across the country.

Their success is a testament to their creativity, dedication, and hard work, as well as the opportunities available through our Career & Technical Education programs. Special thanks to Graphic Design instructor Mr. Murray for helping inspire and guide these remarkable young designers.

🏆 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐚 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐚.

South Bend Schools students Tyson Fuller and Klaus Carmona have been selected by the Indiana Department of Education as the winning designers of Indiana's new Diploma Readiness Seals.

Created as part of South Bend CTE's Graphic Design program, their designs will appear on diplomas statewide as Indiana launches its redesigned diploma system.

Think about that for a moment: artwork created by South Bend students will become part of the official diploma experience for future graduates across Indiana.

That's more than a classroom project. It's a lasting legacy.

Congratulations to Tyson and Klaus on this incredible statewide achievement, and congratulations to Graphic Design instructor Benjamin Murray for helping students turn creativity, talent, and hard work into something that will leave its mark on Indiana education for years to come.

Riley High School's 𝙏𝙤𝙥 9 𝙂𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙪𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙚𝙭𝙘𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙨 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 — in the classroom and in competition.

These outstanding students not only earned their place among Riley’s highest-achieving graduates, but they also balanced the dedication, discipline, and teamwork that come with being student-athletes.

🤖 𝐒𝐁𝐂𝐒𝐂 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐏𝐮𝐭 𝐑𝐨𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐭 𝐕𝐄𝐗 𝐈𝐐 𝐒𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐞

More than 130 South Bend Schools students recently came together for the SBCSC VEX IQ Robotics Scrimmage — and the competition was intense.

With more than 20 teams competing in five matches each, students spent the day building, testing, adjusting, strategizing, and working together in a fast-paced robotics competition that showcased months of learning and teamwork.

Congratulations to Wilson Robotics and the Beat Boxing Blueberries from Kennedy on earning second place, and to the Swanson Tech Titans and the RLC Evil Cupcakes for taking first place.

Events like this are a reminder that robotics is about much more than competition. Students are learning problem-solving, communication, engineering, and how to work through challenges together in real time.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the event possible, including volunteers, staff, the Regional Chamber of Commerce, GearUp, and the South Bend Education Alliance.

This marks the 3rd straight year these teams have achieved this outstanding recognition — a true testament to the hard work, dedication, and commitment shown both in the classroom and beyond.

We are proud of our student-athletes, coaches, and staff for continuing to set the standard for excellence!

This week, South Bend Schools and the Board of School Trustees recognized employees celebrating milestone Years of Service anniversaries.

Some have spent 20 years with SBCSC. Others 30, 40 — and even 50 years serving students and families in our community.

That kind of commitment says a lot.

These are the people who have helped generations of students through school days, graduations, challenges, changes, and memories that last long after those students left our schools.

Thank you to all of this year’s Years of Service honorees for the time, care, and dedication you’ve given to South Bend Schools over the years.

We are so proud of the amazing students in South Bend Schools’ CTE Broadcast Media & Film Production program for showcasing a year full of award-winning creativity, storytelling, journalism, filmmaking, sports media, music videos, commercials, and community impact.
