This FREE four-part insider series begins August 12, 2026, and is designed to help real estate professionals confidently share the many educational opportunities available within South Bend Schools.

Participants will tour local high schools and get a firsthand look at innovative Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, college and career pathways, and the exceptional opportunities preparing South Bend students for success. You will also learn more about school choice, academic programming, district investments, and why South Bend Schools are such a valuable asset to our families, neighborhoods, and community.

We're incredibly proud of our students and teachers for another outstanding year of achievement.

This year's highlights:
-39 Diploma Candidates – the most in program history!
-35 students earned the IB Diploma (89.74%) – a new school record!
-Highest diploma score ever: 42 points
-327 Course Certificates earned, with 75% of IB exams receiving passing scores
-14 perfect scores of 7
-7 courses scored above the world average
-School average score: 4.19
-58 students earned Indiana's Certificate of Multilingual Proficiency.

Congratulations to our students and staff for continuing to demonstrate academic excellence and making the John Adams High School IB Programme a leader in St. Joseph County, Indiana, and beyond!

📢 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗦𝗕𝗖𝗦𝗖 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆! 📢

The Indiana Department of Education’s Office of Title Grants and Support has launched the Ed-Flex program, which helps Local Education Agencies (LEAs) like ours make meaningful improvements in education.

We’re excited to share that SBCSC will be implementing Ed-Flex Waiver 2, which gives us greater flexibility with our paraprofessional requirements.

𝗧𝗼 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝘆, 𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀—not all of them:

✅ Two years of college experience
✅ A two-year college degree
✅ Passing the ParaPro Assessment within the first year of employment
✅ One year or 1,000 hours of work experience in a school
✅ Successfully passing annual school evaluations
✅ Completing 48 credit hours of college-level coursework
✅ Earning a Child Development Associate credential
✅ Completing training and professional-development requirements established by SBCSC

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀. Applicants and current paraprofessionals are not required to meet every item listed.

𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗲: This Ed-Flex flexibility applies only to eligible paraprofessional positions. Approval of the Ed-Flex waiver 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 waive or change Indiana’s separate Article 7 requirements for paraprofessionals who provide instructional support to special education students.
