Starbase South Bend

Introducing tools to campers has had an amazing outcome. Campers received a basic template for a bird house while being encouraged to make it their own. Teaching young people to design and build with tools.

Our STEAM Campers successful completed the design and build while their raw egg did the 2-story drop. Campers “scrambled” to get this budgeting and Engineering Design Challenge done.

Thank you South Bend Fire Department. Our visiting students were thrilled to “touch a truck” and work with the recruits.

We are celebrating another day of providing hands-on with our students & teachers visiting from Lincoln School of South Bend Community School Corporation.

Students explored different types of and how they apply to the Law of Conservation of Energy.

They also put their & problem solving skills to work by using PTC’s On-Shape to map out a Mars Space Station.

5th graders from Corpus Christi of Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend are finishing up their 5 day visit to Starbase South Bend. Students learned Coordinates and applied what they learned playing our version of the Minion game. Graduation this afternoon. 🧑‍🎓 👩‍🎓

10 yrs of education to over 12,000 5th grade students from across Northern Indiana. Our 10 yr. Anniversary Celebration included speakers from City of South Bend - Municipal Government, Indiana National Guard while attendees included leadership from South Bend Community School Corporation, local Foundations, Indiana University South Bend - Health Sciences, SB City Council and our “Friends of Starbase”.
