Superintendent of Schools for Career and Success Academy in South Bend Indiana. We are a hands-on project-based Charter School serving grades K-12.

Career Academy (Grades 6-12)is a college and career-focused middle school and high school. It opened in August 2011 with 7th, 8th, and 9th grades. We've grown to accept enrollment in grades 6-12 and have opened a second campus to serve grades K-5 at the Success Academy in South Bend. We believe project-based learning is advantageous for two reasons. First, project-based learning appeals to students who do not already have a strong academic orientation. Second, project-based learning is beneficial for the development of work-oriented skills, including the ability to work in teams, personal initiative, leadership, and communication skills. We implement hands-on project-based instruction at every grade level. Students are required to complete all courses required by Indiana’s academic standards and have the opportunity to receive dual credit in classes as they progress through school with significant opportunities (including internships, co-ops, job shadows, informational interviews, etc.) available in the junior and senior years.

Success Academy (Grades K-5) Since 2015 it has been the Mission of Success Academy South Bend to create an environment that develops a sense of belonging, respect, value, engagement and true grit in every student. Faculty and Staff strive to instill in each student the ability to succeed in establishing and maintaining an engaging innovative and entrepreneurial culture with the overarching Vision to Prepare Students for LIFE. Success Academy’s grade levels and classrooms are organized into small learning communities to give the students an overall immersive learning experience. These classrooms consist of a group of modular spaces placed around a central flex area. This design allows for the individual rooms to adapt to different space requirements on a class-by-class basis. This gives teachers the ability to have many smaller size classrooms or one large one for cooperative classroom projects and events.
