Happy first day of fall from the Vera Z. Dwyer School of Health Sciences! 🍂🍁

It feels like just yesterday we were welcoming prospective students at our booth during Welcome Week—and now we’re already almost a month into the semester! As the leaves turn and the weather cools down, our Dental Education students are officially in the thick of lectures, lab work, and clinical preparation.

Registration is now open for the 2026 Carol Dee Minichillo Dental Hygiene Lecture Series!

Join us on October 2, 2026, at IU South Bend for a full day of continuing education, professional learning, and connection with fellow dental professionals.

This year’s program will explore topics including patient behavior and positive dental visits, musculoskeletal health for dental professionals, the connection between oral and overall health, legislative updates, and periodontal staging, grading, and soft tissue management.

Thanks to the generosity of the Minichillo family in honor of the late Carol D. Minichillo, this annual event is offered at no cost to attendees. CEUs are available for dental hygiene attendees.

We’ll be sharing more as the event approaches, including the full program, speaker bios, session summaries, and additional event details.
