The best part of camp⁉️

Hearing what students have to say after it’s over.
From trying something new to wishing camp lasted even longer, these moments remind us that learning is about so much more than writing code.

Thanks to all of our campers for making this summer one to remember‼️

She coded her first video game in Python, debugged her own work, collaborated with other students, and learned the real technical vocabulary to talk about everything she built.

At Code School, campers earn XP for participating, learning, collaborating, and doing the work. At the end of the week, they cash it in for real prizes.

Those headphones? Earned.
Great work Anna‼️

A stronger community starts with listening to the people who live in it.

That’s why we’re partnering with Beacon Health to share their Community Health Needs Assessment. The survey helps identify the biggest challenges facing our region and guides future investments in programs and resources that support our community.

If you have a few minutes, we’d appreciate you adding your voice.

Survey closes August 15

One minute you’re learning about AI.
The next you’re passionately defending whether AI should referee NBA games.

Mini Debate Club is one of our favorite camp activities because students don’t just learn how AI works, they get to wrestle with the big questions surrounding it.

Should AI help with homework⁉️
Should robots referee sports⁉️
Is it fair to use AI in competitions⁉️

There aren’t always right answers...but there are some pretty great arguments.

A parent sent us this after the last day of camp.
Their daughter had never coded before. They weren’t even sure she’d enjoy the program.

And then she got home and asked for a computer, unprompted, so she could keep coding.

We all want our kids to find something they love and keep coming back to. We’re so excited to be a part of this moment 🧡

Have you ever seen a kid this excited about vocabulary?

Every vocab card has a point value on the back. Students earn XP just for learning and using new tech terms.

At first, kids are in it for the points. And then, they just start liking the words

Algorithm
Debug
Network
Innovate
These aren’t watered down. They’re real terms kids need to know to talk intelligently about tech. It was cool to see our students owning them by the end of the week ‼️

“I love coding SO INCREDIBLY MUCH!”

Ryland came into camp knowing Scratch and left having coded an entire game in Python.

Not a simplified version. Not a tutorial he followed. A real game, in a real programming language, in four days.

That’s not a small leap.
Python is a foundational programming language used across software development, AI, and data science. Getting a middle schooler there in four days, with enough confidence to say he loves it is exactly the kind of outcome we wanted our program to have!

Age-appropriate
Technically relevant
And clearly memorable 🧡

We’re already excited for our fall program!

Tell us your kid is a Code School kid without telling us they’re a Code School kid👇

They’ve explained to your entire family how to clear their browser cache.

They have surprisingly strong opinions about dark mode.

They’ve broken a project at least three times and rebuilt it every single time.

They correct you when you get tech stuff wrong.

They have a friend group that actually wants to debug things together.

They walk into a room and immediately start thinking about how they’d build it differently.

Sound like your kid? We’d love to see them at South Bend Code School 🧡

“What if my kid has never coded before?”

Good 😁
That’s actually one of our favorite place to start!

Whether your kiddo is brand new to technology or already building projects on their own, our mentors will meet them where they are and help them grow 🧡

400+ learners served 📚
20+ regional partnerships built 🤝
A laptop for every high school participant 💻
And 100% positive feedback from participants building confidence with AI and tech 💬

We don’t take that lightly. Every number represents a student, an educator, or a community member who deserves to be part of where technology is headed 🧡

Thank you, for helping us make tech education in our region more equitable.
